Not necessarily, they could look strategyyyy... driving to a plan, to a laptime, to a fuel burn number...

Its all relative..

What was with PRA and DJR/Penske this weekend?
No pace at all. I wonder if Scotty made the right call to drive the falcon

No Ford in the shootout for the first time ever. Lots of work to do over the summer for those 2 teams.

must say i really enjoyed those final laps between DR and JW. Was barracking for David (the whole underdog thing) but he drove well. Imagine the stress Betty was going through

But the Fords were nowhere this weekend, hopefully just a glitch

Both teams have been quite inconsistent all year.

One week they're all jets, the next they're nowhere.

Tander could have won his last race for HRT if the pitbay release of Shane was penalised. GT slowed and moved across to minimise the contact and save his car. Dodgy call I reckon, I hope next season this crap stops.

Some contact is allowed.

The rulebook spells it all out pretty clearly.

There was no breach of the rules in this instance.

its an odd one. If tander had not have braked then there would have been a breach of the rule.

This is happened a few times this year where the driver making the error has been saved by the other driver

Surely the system has to be better than relying on the victim

How does that fit in with Mr Crompton and others proclaiming all telecast that SVG is the first New Zealander to win the title since 1991..... yet all the viewers were told before the race in the trophy parade that the first champion was crowned in 1997.....

Supercars themselves were the one's celebrating "retro round" a few events back.... some consistency would be great
The trophy itself is the (V8) Supercars Championship Trophy. I realise they win the ATCC but that is awarded by CAMS.

Yep, I get the rule around this and do like that a certain amount of contact is permitted. But in this case, had Tander kept his car at pitspeed and held his line, a drive thru would have been the result. But Tander needs to also make sure he protects his car.....
A Blanchard or a Moffat would have been pinged, I'm sure of it.

We can spin it any way we want, but the results reflect the general state of play with or without a pitlane collision.

Even if SvG feathered and dropped in behind GT, he probably would have dive-bombed him sideways a few laps later, and given us something else to talk about.

Harsh enough for the average punters (racers) but not the best racers who are generally RBRA/Caltex

It wasn't until 1999 that they started handing out seperate trophies

In 1997 and 1998 only the ATCC was awarded

AVESCO ignored anything that happened before them for the first decade of their existence.
In the past ten years (coinciding with access to the Channel 7 vault presumebly, plus the rise of the popularity in retro concepts) V8SC started to acknowledge a lot of pre-1997 happenings, culminating in the likes of the 2010 celebration of the 50 years of the ATCC at Sandown, the 50 years of the Bathurst 1000 in 2012, and this year a proper "retro round" with cars decked out in colourschemes from as far back as the 70s and 80s...

Yet today they roll out just the "Supercar" Champions since 1997....

Anyone else confused, Or can't they make up their minds??
Maybe this logic might continue into Bathurst next year and Supercars will correctly start recognising
only the 1000km races run at Bathurst for V8Supercars/Supercars since October 19, 1997.

They missed a chance to celebrate the 20th running of the event in 2016...

Was the Sunday attendance at Homebush only about 15,000?

It looked pretty sparse on TV.

What a disaster this place has been for NSW people. And started by a crooked politician.
