Might, already been to Croft and just ordered up a new car for myself which may leave me well skint!
Moving this to Trackside by the way but will leave a re-direct in the Touring Car Forum. [Edit - thread title changed to reflect event] |

Got to Knockhill for 0815, watched the SEAT race, got soaked to the skin.
Thought "sod this" Came home and watched it all on Motors. Thankfully I had got the tickets free, so nothing lost. |

What a **** weekend!
Drove up yesterday, paid £24 for me and my Dad to get in despite arriving at 3 o clock and missing most of the day. Stupidly bought two tickets in advance for today at the circuit office, stopped over in Stirling got up this morning and saw the appalling weather. Drove to the circuit around that stupid 20 mile diversion for the umpteenth time only to sit in the car park for half an hour before I decided to sod it and drive all the way back! Wasted weekend, waste of money but at least I'm warm now. Here's a fiver that it'll be sunny blue skies in Scotland tomorrow! |

The thing is, Knockhill in the wet makes for excellent racing - just not if you have to stand and get soaked.
Thank god for Motors TV! |

erm... why not just take some waterproofs? Knockhill is well worth getting wet for - you just have to prepare for the experience!

The waterproofs were packed, it wasn't so much the rain it was the wind mixed in as well which made it pretty unbearable!
Still, got back to see two of the touring car races and there was some cracking action! |

You were on the exposed infield?! God, that was a bit brave...
I had 3 layers on, and spent two of the BTCC races in the Clark shed and Hairpin shed so was pretty dry. It wasn't too bad to be honest, 2002 was a far worse day, that was heavy rain, today was just constant drizzle with some heavier showers. I never think of waterproofs when I got to a circuit, you'd of thought I'd have learnt my now. Definitely taking my wellies next year though! As I mentioned in the BTCC forum, I don't know how they organised their parking this year, it wasn't helped by the fact several people in front of me, obviously disgruntled by the weather tried to head off in their car to a spot that they weren't directed to. One marshal was using himself as a block at an opening for a car. |

What did you all expect, in was BTCC at Knockhill, of course it was going to be wet. I believe it's actually specified in the championship regulations.

Glorious day in 2001 ? It was an absolutely freezing day and about 6 Touring Cars competed!
As a matter of interest, it is now very sunny here in Scotland! Typical! |
