If you used the Pious on the motorways most of the time then your fuel consumption figures wouln't be so impressive, the engine is busy charging batteries as well as moving you forwards. They're really at home in cities where hybrids of that type can help towards cleaner air.

Can I direct you to this thread http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102587

I'd love to be proved wrong though.

Motorways - so far best I've had is 53 (c.210 mile drive to Maidstone). Urban driving is what gives it the real uplift in economy. No way will I get the 65.7 overall claimed by Toyota.

it was ok i suppose

i had to go shopping though and I couldn't fit all anything in it

and I have a son who is quite ill at the moment and it was a total faff to make him comfortable

i complained of course when I took it back but they just didn't take any notice

i drive a fiat punto 1.4 turbo.

Standard on the inside (apart from the extra gauges needed)

Standard on the outside apart from bigger brakes, suspension and a free flowing exhaust

Pushing 210bhp inside the engine hence the bigger brakes needed.

Although the bhp sounds little, please consider it is a 1.4 for a start and secondly its got 280+feet of torque in a car which weighs less than a ton

The aero most definitely isn't stock. The taillamps are though. Off a late-model (Kouki) 180SX.

Well..........

Just done the deal and px'd the SantaFe and purchased a used Saab estate...
A car large enough to tow the van (3.0 v6 TD) and will give better fuel economy when not used for towing....
A bit of a late xmas present I suppose ....

Just watch the turbo (or turbo's - not sure if it's a twin turbo engine) on them, I have heard they are a bit fragile.

Estate too. Interesting choice! I saw a lovely blue Volvo V70 parked up today, and thought - that looks ideal for towing a car!

Its a single turbo engine and it comes with a good 12 month warranty and has a full dealer service history so hopefully all should be well...

Thanks for the advice..

Amongst other things I drive a Ford Puma and if you think that sounds a bit tame and boring, have a look at this.

No, I haven't driven mine like Tiff does in that clip, but I have followed him on a race circuit when he's got a car at that sort of angle and, to be honest, it's a bit disconcerting. You think you're going to have to take avoiding action, but somehow he hauls it back in line. Great car control, but The Stig's quicker!

New wheels went on mine a few months ago, I think I posted here before, but anyway, it's a JZX100 Toyota Chaser, 2.5L turbo 1JZ engine.

Today I passed the 100,000 mile mark in my Saab 93 1.9 TiD Linear, 4 times round the world. The lease expires next week and I take delivery of a BMW 318d SE on Wednesday.
