16:00 Ferry, from Dieppe 17/06/02

Did anyone else book and pay 6 months in advance only to arrive and find there was no ferry?

8 of us and four cars did, after a long tiring (but excellent) weekend our patience was severely tried.

A very strong snottogram is currently being written, as we ended up driving an extra 250 miles with a sick car to get home very late and extremely tired.

They didnt even attempt to make an appology either

We were on that ferry, but we were notified of the change a few days before. We were offered either 9.30am or 00.45am the next day as alternatives. After a session of irate phone calls during which hoverspeed tried to pass the buck as they did not operate the ferry (but didnt tell anyone) we ended up being changed to calais and the extra hundred miles driving, which for 8 cars added up to a fair amount of gas. The cheeky s**s even tried to charge me more as the times were now over the 5 day fare.
I will not be using them next year and will being going back to Portsmouth which for 10 years previously has always worked like clockwork
