Ascari going American Style
Hi there,
i just read that Ascari are entering two "works" sportscars at the Daytona 24 hours, Sebring 12 hours and the Miami ALMS race. these being one a4-10 with a judd engine and one a4-20 with the BMW v8 Twin-Turbo. I suppose that the will switch to BMW power for the first car aswell as it is scheduled to appear with that engine at Le Mans. Good news at last |

Considering the Grand Ams record of finishing for prototypes, if they can keep it together they might win.

just a thought. the bmw turbo motor may face heavy restriction due to the fact that its is an ohc turbo motor. seams that the the larger pushrod v8s are favourites for that series.
on another note, how competitive is the champion lola b2k/10 with the porsche motor. i can remember watching it race, but grand am has a special exception for that car in terms of air restrictors. |

Durning its first year, it was slow! their aim was to make it mroe reilable instead of faster. if i remember correctly, they did finish in the top 3 of the last race of the year.
but, an ascari/bmw at daytona?! WAHOO ... finally an interesting car ... most importantly though, i hope an EVIL!!!!!!!!!  factory team doesnt win the 24 hours again. i bet thats a real thorne in gran-ams side ... and i love it
