Anorak question
What is the most categories of car that have ever been eligible for LM?
Right now I think there's five, GT, GTS, LMP900, LMP675 and LM900 for roofed Audis badged Bentley. No closed-top 675s though. Does anyone think they need to add more categories? Have they only done this in the past to up the entry figures? Potentials would be Trans-Am which look cool for the first time in as long as I've known them and Japanese GT, where, as any Playstation fan will tell you, the cars look wild. |

Personally, I think the current class arrangement is OK, although like paulzinho I hanker after the old Group C days. I don't see the need to add any more categories, particularly not for GT's - the entry list is over-subscribed in that area now (IMO). I want to see prototypes, lots and lots of them, that's what Le Mans is really about for me, and I care not whether they are Audi's with rooves or Bentleys!

I like all the current classes. Dick Brber will add to the LMP900 class in 2002 with their Panoz LMP07 Mugen-Hondas.
