datapost61 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
A small correction to class A results: race one leader was Rodger Motherwell in the orange Alfasud Sprint. With 2 laps to go his NSF hub bearing collapsed and he dropped to 4th; the winner was Andy Walker. Ian Blacklin now runs in class B as he has put a 1600 in the Fiesta

Malcolm Smith should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The largest entry of the season, thirty one cars, attended rounds thirteen and fourteen of the championship at Knockhill
on 25th and 26th August. Championship regular, Raymond Boyd (Porsche 911), and visitor, Graham Millar (TR7 V8), both came close to winning,
but didn’t manage to overcome the seemingly invincible Morgan of Andy Smith.

The large crowd attending the BTCC event were enthralled by highly competitive racing from all drivers.
Smith continues to lead the championship jointly with Robert Marshall (Ford Escort).

Class winners in races one and two were :
A George Leitch / Rodger Motherwell
B Olly Ross / Keiron Baillie
C Robert Marshall
D Raymond Boyd
E Andy Smith

Final Fling

Missed out on the last round but I understand normal service was upheld.

Where's the race report Malcolm!

I understand both Andy Smith (Class E Morgan) and Robert Marshall (Class C Mk2 Escort) won both their class races so its still all tied at the top.

Class championships are decided but the overall champion will be decided at the 'Final Fling' round on Sunday 7th October Knockhill. Technically Nic Boyes (Class A Mini) could also take the title.

I hope I can keep out of their way!

Plans afoot for the winter with the hope of making the fiesta a wee bit more competitive (and before anyone comments, yes I'll still be driving it!!!)

Steve, dereliction of duty on my part - I had the tough choice of attending
the Six Hours of Spa or Knockhill - Spa won. However, I will ask the Spa organisers to ensure that they avoid a clash of dates in future....

As you mention, Messrs. Marshall and Smith are still joint leaders of the
Scottish Classics, following races on 23rd September. Entries were lower than normal, with sixteen cars starting, including first time outings for Harry Simpson's Ginetta G4 and John Marshall's rally spec. Escort.

This weekend's two races should be an exciting end to the season -
hopefully, there will be a large number of entries.

October 7th 2012

Robert Marshall (Class C) and Andy Smith (Class E) finished with equal points following class wins
in each of the last two races of the 2012 Championship.
There would seem to be no way of separating them – therefore they are likely to be declared joint champions.

Other class winners in races one and two respectively were:
Class A Nic Boyes / Ian Sinclair
Class B Harry Simpson / Ian Blacklin
Class D Raymond Boyd / Stan Bernard

Smith won both races despite pressure from Triumph TR7 V8 driver Shonny Paterson.
Dry sunny conditions were conducive to some excellent performances, with new records being set for Classes A, C, D.
However, mechanical difficulties were considerable as five of the seventeen qualifiers failed to finish race two.

The winter lay-off will hopefully provide an opportunity for competitors to prepare their cars for an next season.
Those who cannot wait until then may be tempted to enter non-championship races being organised by
Knockhill Motor Sports Club on 28th October. On that day, races will run in a reverse direction.
