Lack of motivation...
Seems like our lifeguard 'The Hoff' has drowned. Yesterday he parked his bike with 17 laps still to go. He didn't have the motivation to fight for last position. As a result he was sacked with immediate effect.
Ivan Silva and Chaz Davies are mentioned as replacements! With the next race in Japan being this weekend (23 Sept) a decision has to be made pretty quickly. Has Chaz ridden his last race in the US yet? |

At this stage I have not been able to find any reports that say Alex has actually been sacked, they just say that it is possible. Just have to wait and see, to be honest I don't think bring either of the two riders mentioned in is going to have any positive effect on the teams performance

Confirmed Here
Could be a good opening for Chaz. It would be good to have another british rider in the championship, (It might shut chunder up ) |

I wouldn't have thought it would be a great opportunity, at best it is going to be a four race deal with pretty much no chance of it continuing next year.
There are alot better options out there than Chaz it has to be said, just looking through the Australian Superbike/Supersport Championships could bring up at least a handful who would do a much better job. |

They'll already have Toseland, why not another......
Of course it's been Toseland smashing the Aussies in World Supers this year...... |

I cant imagine too many team managers rushing to get his signature now that he's shown his lack thereof commitment.

It's not as if he has punched above his weight in MotoGP.
IIRC Kawasaki was not overly impressed with him during his time there as well. I hope he likes gardening. |

Hearing some of the noise being reported out of Ducati recently I'm inclined to think Chaz & Silva will split the rides this year - then Chaz to do a full season of testing / stand-in for Elias rides with a proper shot somewhere in 09

Lol, you Aussies make me laugh, see what I mean about best and worst in losing and winning, thats why we dislike you so much sports wise!! (wait for it)
As for Chaz, I think he impressed a lot of people in Laguna, remember he didnt know the track at all, and was riding two bikes. And he has obviously used his links with Stoner very cleverly to get in with Ducati, unlike most Europeans he hasnt got stacks of money so why not use otehr means. As for the amount of Aussie SS and Superbike riders who should get the ride, arent they all already riding in the UK coz their own series is so rubbish! |

Plenty of Aussies have raced in the UK in recent years, but only Dean Thomas remains. Others have tried but only Bayliss and Vermeulen have succeeded.
Not sure if Alex's lack of motivation was race-specific; perhaps his hand isn't 100%, or his spare bike was underperforming. All the same, you have to fight on when there's a chance of a point, and it's not surprising that it's got him the sack. Have D'Antin signed 2 riders for 2008 yet? |

Just about every rider who isn't signed to a MotoGP ride at the moment has been linked to D'Antin and my guess is that whoever gets it will have to have some $'s behind them.

Chaz confirmed to ride the d'Antin bike at Montegi. Congrats to Chaz.
http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/sp...rducatimotegi/ I guess d'Antin couldn't find those telephone numbers for those Aussie Superbike riders . |

"Rotten luck for Chaz" said with a strong pommy commentators accent.
I am sorry he's injured, but as I said before, there are plenty of better riders available and not just Aussie ones. |

This is purely a gut feeling, but if d'Antin don't get Silva, I think they will hire Itoh for the weekend. He's Japanese and has plenty of experience with the Ducati and Bridgestones so he would seem to be a perfect fit for this weekend.
