bigjon should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Without sky....

Any idea if they'll be terrestrial coverage, even highlights?

It seems stupid to limit the audience when trying to raise the profile of a brand new series. Surely less airtime and a worse quality show, at least initially, would have been better than the highest paying bidder?

Don K has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

I'm not sure about that.

As far as I understood, the idea behind A1 was to bring a high-level series to new countries.

So the coverage within traditional countries is far less important.

In fact, if this series was to get too much media coverage in the traditional racing countries:
- It might take away attention (and money) from other new international racing series.
- It might degrade into another series in which the tradional countries reign, causing the new countries to turn away from the series.

And in that case, in 20 years time we might have a F1 "World" Championship which is still only contended by the same countries as the previous 50 years.

A1GP adverts were on ITV quite a lot during the breaks in the Belgian GP coverage - I think awareness is certainly trying to be raised.

Selling the live rights to Sky Sports isn't exactly limiting the audience though as the channel reaches millions of homes already.

Also, going by the amount of advertising Sky shelled out for during the recent grand prix on ITV it seems they're doing far more promotion than Channel 5 or BBC would give it.
