Dunlop Ad

Has everyone seen the Dunlop ad, where they have all of the onboard footage from the old cars, just wondering if i could have info on all the pieces of footage.

i think it is:

first one - a hillclimb in the 50s or 60s

second one - definatly on the nordschliefe (old nurburgring), the bridge is a dead giveaway.

third one - Jaguar E-Type through Woodcote corner at Silverstone

fourth one - John Bowe, i think through turn 1 at Sandown, definatly during 1994-1996, judging by FAI logo's on helmet

fifth one - the old (and proper) turn 1 at Le Mans, under the Dunlop Bridge.

In addition to racer69's info:

First one - Shelsley Walsh (sp?) hillclimb perhaps?

Second one - Stirling Moss in a Lotus 18 or 21, perhaps 1961?

Third one - At Silverstone around 1991-1993, and I thought it was a C-Type Jag?

yeah, that third clip, at silverstone, doesnt really give a good impression. in an add promoting tires, which give grip, they manage to fail at the job at controlling the car. The driver had the correct the car multiple times at a small bend which could be called a straight, running on rims would probably create more grip that whatever he was on. that could fall into the worlds funniest commercials.
Tom.

Actually, I saw it again last night and it was probably a D-Type Jag. BTW Tom, I thought that the Jags handled like that when they were driven flat-out because of the narrowness of the tyres they ran on?

The early footage is indeed the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, the year is 1948, I have the footage on my hard drive (goes for 12 seconds). Can't say who the driver is.

The second one, as racer69 pointed out is the Nurburgring, William, you are right, yes its Stirling Moss, 1961. I have seen that footage on the internet before, but sadly I don't have it anymore.

I can't remember the ad tghat well, but I am pretty sure that from memory the last one is a D-Type, infact, that's a certainty, I've got a full onboard lap in a D-Type on my hard drive somewhere, and the incar view is almost the same.
