2017 News and Rumors

Following the 'Night of Champions' which honored the 2016 'Formula' (Christopher Brenier) and 'Open' (Ingo Gerstl) champions and placed drivers, a few announcements about next season were done.

- The 2017 season will start at the Hockenheim Jim Clark Revival on April 22nd and 23rd
- The 2017 calendar should count 7 meetings. The final calendar will be announced before the end of the year

Regarding next year line-up, it's too early to really know but a couple of new Formula 1 cars could join the grid.
W.Jaksch is likely to return with the Super Aguri, W.Jordan could enter an Arrows A22, and a belgian team could enter a 1998 Jordan and maybe also an older Arrows.

what Belgian team is that?

Wow, a 1998 Jordan would be very lovely. Who would drive that?

2017 Calendar

Hi guys,

Here is the provisional calendar for next year!

1) 21-23 April - Hockenheim Historic - HOCKENHEIMRING (GER)

2) 19-21 May - Race Festival - ZANDVOORT (NED)

3) 9-11 June - GT Open - PAUL RICARD (FRA)

4) 14-16 July - Syntix Superprix - ZOLDER (BEL)

5) 5-6 August - GAMMA Racing Day - ASSEN (NED)

6) 8-10 September - Masaryk Racing Days - BRNO (CZE)

7) 29 Sept - 1 October - BOSS GP Super Prix - IMOLA (ITA)

It's still provisional, but probably really really close to be the final one.
A nice calendar in my opinion, with a lot of good tracks and some nice events.

I really hoped to see Cicha in a second Super Aguri.
Great to see a Jordan on the grid. What engine does he use?

I am a bit disappointed that the grid in Hockenheim will not be that huge as it will be in later races. Because I will be in Hockenheim.

A great list !!!
Very varied combination of F1 of all years, Champ Cars, Indycars and of course 2 V12 of the Superleague Formula.
Great to have different cars in the same category again, totally lost in the present with all the Spec Formula.
They will be running in the old Hockenheim, with the long straight or in the new, the next weekend?

Just lots of very rich men in cars they can't really drive pretending to be F1 drivers.

Interesting as an aside, but a whole lot of fuss about nothing in my experience.

Beyond the amateur drivers, the point here is the variety of cars, finally a series that is not Spec!!! I am highly bored of the Spec series.

It's not far off a spec series with all those GP2 cars!

Shame that many competitors were not able to start both races. Hopefully a bigger starting field for Zandvoort. Maybe will attend on Saturday if the weather is good. The Pirelli tyres look great on the cars. The tyres on Peter Milavec' Champcar look smaller than they were last season, as far as i've could see the tyres were not Pirelli-branded. Anyone else noticed that?
