Silverstone F1 travel advice

Hi,

Wonder if anyone could give me some advice for getting into Silverstone on F1 Sunday?

Our seats are for the Vale grandstand.

We are staying in Milton Keynes on the Saturday night and have two options:

1) Use a parking pass for Whittlebury Hall - looks like 15 miles and possible to avoid the A5 by going backroads.
2) Fly Cranfield to Turweston and use the 4x4 shuttle into the circuit at Vale. 8 miles to Cranfield and 20 mins or so on the 4x4 shuttle.

Any idea on which is going to be quickest for us (both on the way in and way out)?

Milton Keynes to Whittlebury will take about 45mins via back roads, however you have the flexibility to leave when you want rather than having to wait for the shuttle.

Shuttle bus would be best. Back roads get closed and directions get changed, sat nav is useles. It gets soooooo busy. Best option and the most fun is to turn up Wednesday and camp.

I'd agree with that, although you can leave it until Thursday night if you are lucky enough to have a motorhome in the centre.

I went on the 4x4 from Turweston in 2008, very quick and easy.

I went in 2008 (and got stuck in the car park for hours...!) but just found a few bits and pieces of information on here http://trackreviewers.com/reviews/silverstone/
