What's the deal with the lack of performance in the Japanese cars? Yamashita's pace indicates that it's not the drivers, as he's been very quick in the euro-spec Threebond T-Sport car, but the Japanese-spec cars are at the back and slow. Sad to see Makino, Sasaki, Mardenborough and Tsuboi confined to the back of the grid and lacking pace.

Kenji Sasagawa (Team ZAP Speed) tweets the reason why Japanese teams were beaten at Macau.
That's because they are using default damper due to Japanese local rules for cost reduction.
In Japanese F3, damper modification is banned.
And yes.
Japanese engine is inferior to European engine.
But they can't modify because of engine homologation.

Aero modification also not take place similar reason too
of course they can use it in macau,but useless as nobody will invest this for once a year and won't achieve too
