speedreader should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
NZ V8's coverage

Sorry if this has been asked before but is there anyway of following what is happening in the NZ Series 'real time' ?

I have been checking the NZ V8 website for Ruapuna updates but they do not even have practice times up yet and Race 1 has now finished......

Nope, unfortunately not, you can try looking at www.mylaps.com as the results will normally be there first (although they aren't there at all yet either ).

Thanks r8hsv

I had been hoping MRNZ or NZV8's might have had a quicker online results system or even a live timing website like the Ozzie's 'Natsoft - Race Timing' but ended up resorting to telephone calls to keep in touch

Maybe next year......

Besnard reminded people why he does not have a Supercar drive........Started around 17th out of 25 car's in a 20 lap reverse grid race, and throw it in to a tyre barrier.......The impact somehow disconected the throttle cable, and he was left to idle back to the bits loosing a couple of lap's in the process.

Meanwhile Kayne Scott, who started from the rear of the grid, kept his head and steadily worked his way to the front to win easily.........Against the odd's he also took the round win, and moved from 10th' after a disastrouse first round, to 4th in the championship.

You are not half one-eyed, are you V8's rule. It's pretty common knowledge that you and Kayne are in the same team. It is nice to see no crying over parity due to Ruapuna being a Holden circuit traditionlly, which means we will have to wait until the next round to see the "real" net effect of the parity adjustment/crying due to losing that we saw at Pukekohe.

Remembering that Besnard probably hasn't run at Ruapuna before, and if he has, certainly not as many laps as he would have done around Pukekohe with all his Supercar mileage.

Given your criticism of Besnard at Ruapuna and the results from his Pukekohe efforts, is it fair to say that the same thing about Kayne Scott not being deserving of a Supercar drive??

Considering at Pukekohe that Kayne didn't even have a crash and still went "off the boil" on TV about how unfair the rules were.....it was about as funny as when TV One cut back to the studio after showing the Andersen crash and subsequent "lemming" jump over the wall only to see presenters Bernadine and Veitchy laughing their heads off..... I hope Andrew is ok

I am waiting for the Ford drivers to cry foul over parity now that a Holden won a race......

remember those glad we got better coverage of those events this year but still think we should have better coverage of our own series ie no more than a week delay as it is just down the road somewhere

Same TVNZ that sends reporters to the Indy 500 for their build up,but doesn't show the race live or anything.

Not going to panic just yet.............

Change can be a good thing??

Change can be a good thing??

Change can be a good thing??

Quite worried tho all the same.

We have had exceptional coverage over the past 4 or 5 years with a few exceptions (Mainly Sandown coverage) Wonder if TV1 will do a decent job at Bathurst this year . Hopefully they wont have Geoff Bryant cutting into the coverage when Cromley says something interesting like the last couple of years.

Who is going to present this new show I wonder? Will TV3 be a bit freindlier about their 6pm news??

Keep saying that a few more time and you might just start believing it.

I was really disappointed when F1 went from TVNZ to Sky, just hope I won’t be disappointed again.

The TV3 deals is only for Supercars and the Hamilton event

TV1 currently retains the rights for MotorSport NZ Race Championships - It will be interesting to see what happens at Hamilton because it will be final round for V8s, GT3, and MINI.

Was interesting to see Mr Cochrane talk about 'more live coverage' how can it be more live than TVNZ is showing now on freeview - qualifying and all races live (with no ads)??

After all I was disappointed with 3's A1GP coverage last season, they were all gung ho about 'live', but only feature races were live if they were well after midnight (and the NZ round) - was very disappointing when the team was doing so well.

Looks like a job for Clint Brown. As enthusiastic about MotorSport as just about anybody on the telly. He would revel in a job fronting a V8 Supercar show. Sorry to hear about the change though.... David Turner and his team at TVNZ have done a wicked job of the Pukekohe Rounds and the Local V8's over the years and their Loyalty to TKR has always endeared them to me. They have also been bastions for getting as much coverage as they could 'on air' and squeezed every possible minute out of TVNZ's precious 'news' programme. Bathurst covereage has always been without doubt their finest show and each year we have been able to nudge the news etc just that bit further... Can we expect the same loyalty and dedication from the TV3 Team. I remain sceptical until I learn more. Just take a look at the barrage of complaints from Australian fans regarding Channel 7 covereage this year and tremble. maybe it will be fantastic... (repeat as often as required) (thanks to Marcos Skaif's post a few back for the 'idea' of 'self convincing....'

If the NZ V8's are still under the spell of TVNZ, wonder how they are going to wrestle coverage at Hamilton next year when TV3 are there in force.??
