[iV8SC15R2627] Castrol 600, Gold Coast: 23-25 Oct
Gold Coast 'Indy' Is Almost Here!
An interesting event, very crowd-focused and a genuine party venue for V8SC... as a race track, its a great party...! Lots of damaged stuff from Bathurst to be sorted before this event will have a full complement of both drivers and cars... LDM (#3), PRA (#6, #111), DJRTP (#17) each have gear that is a bit hurt.. Pilots unsure include Mr Courtney, Mr Pye, Mr Mostert... PRA #5 to win, with the other PRA's to cover? |

Ms de Silvestro already ruled out as Mr Mostert's stand-in.
Would've been nice to see her in a pukka PRA car, with a team mate less likely to lead the setup down a path of speed deficiency... Much talk of Mr S. Johnson fulfulling the role. Knows the track, seemingly had his head around the COTF nuances at a time when many did not. The combination could be a real darkhorse. Mr Pye should be right to go. I suspect that Mr Ambrose will get the bulk of the wheel work. LDM have another chassis back at base they could press into action. #111 is an interesting scenario. Is there another chassis back at the shop? Or perhaps tranferring the goodies and panels onto a repaired #200, would be an easier task? Mr Courtney still doesn't look comfortable. Unsure if he'd want to make a return at a busy track like GC. I think we'll see Mr Ingall figure here as well. |

Repaired #200 will be the interim # 6. #111 will just need to get fixed. |

I'm sure that V8SC is secretly wishing that Frosty has a shocking weekend or two.

According to Speedcafe, Ingall could be replacing mostert at the GC.
http://www.speedcafe.com/2015/10/15/...d-coast-drive/ Would be interesting to see how he goes in much better machinery if it happens. |

I'm not understanding why Ingall would "be a surprise"? If JC gets a run, he is the next best in terms of recent miles that is not already driving. And PRA want the best they can to ensure they clinch the Manufacturers title, rather than giving a Dev series guy a run (and the better ones are already taken) for experience.

Anyone interested in the well being of JC should put a big line through his name for the concrete canyon on the GC as it's simply not worth risking his long term health. Then he can leave it until the wide open spaces of PI where someone can just drive through his drivers side door.

Maybe it's just a ploy by Ingall to sure up a deal for the Gold Coast with HRT. I'm sure they'd much rather have him in reserve, given his run with them for the last two races than someone else.

ChampCar throughout the split still managed tubro engines with 800 - 850 horsepower.
Current Indycar whilst have a reduction in HP - are quicker on road and street courses whilst and are annually creeping closer to the mental Super Speedway records. Aesthetically they have evolved but the car these are still relatively similar in terms of open wheel racing |

Seems Mr. Ingall is driving with Prodrive after all. Just wondering how Mr. Courtney is going to go because the GC track is pretty taxing.

Yeah, I'm guessing they've organised a backup incase Courtney decides he isn't fit enough to race. Guessing Ingall went to FPR as it was a guaranteed drive for the weekend. Hopefully Fox let him do the same next year as the coverage he's produced from doing the enduros has actually been pretty decent.

I know that there's extenuating circumstances, but IMO there's just something not right in a driver driving for a factory Holden team and a factory Ford team not only in the same season, but in consecutive races.
