Name you favourite engine and why? For the following eras.
1) 1.5 Turbo era 1977-1988 2) 3.0 1966-1982 3) 3.5 1989-1994 4) 3.0 1995-2000 Mine are; 1) Renault EF15 1986 - A trend settter from day one (1977) and brings numatic valve technolgy to F1 increasing revs to 13,000rpm and power over 1200bhp!! Also BMW M12/M13 insane power from a production based 4 cylinder with just one BIG turbo!! 2) Ferrari Flat-12 1979-1980 (cant remmber the designation) - Lovley engine sound and not just another DFV in a DFV dominated era. 515bhp @12,300rpm nice! 3) Ferrari tipo 043? 1994 V12. Sounds the ********, produces loads of power 870bhp @15,000rpm. I miss it big time. 4) Mercedes F???? 2000. Sounds a bit like a V12 because of the exhuast system. Powerfull 830bhp, revs to about 19,000rpm!! bloody small and weights about 97kg!!!. Over to you. |

I used to love the Lamborghini V12 used between 89-94..simply the best sounding engine that Ive heard..just a shame it wasnt very quick and Id wish they would come back to F1 but i guess they got badly bitten with their ill fated Modena Lambo team back in 91...but it would be nice to see them back
