I am sure some teams at the Winton end of pitlane would prefer to see even less kilometres.

Would that not be because the Super Black Racing REC was sold to John Blanchard, as opposed to the 888/Vortex one which, for memory, was ex TKR/ANZ Bank/FFF one?

Oh, you've covered it already, Umai. Ooops!

Maybe i'm not reading enough into it, but seeing as GRM at the time were racing as "Volvo Polestar Racing", i took the Polestar reference to mean that GRM wanted two more RECs?

Wasn't that Lowndes last year, as the REC had been dormant and therefore had no tyre bank?

No usable tyre bank.

So yes, effectively a pile of tyres only suitable for ride days.

It's an utterly absurd situation, isn't it.

Thanks for posting Langers, an interesting read. Makes RD's decision to call time as a director understandable.

Just to put some clarity on some of the REC movements discussed earlier:

*The D'Alberto, Lucas Dumbrell and Triple F RECs, (the latter having been leased to DJR) were handed in at the end of 2013, Dumbrell regained his in 2015 after a separate stoush.

*Paul Morris sold one at the end of 2012 to Lucas Dumbrell and the second (that had been on lease to Tekno for the Patrizi / SVG entries) to DJR at the end of 2013.

*The Super Black REC was purchased from Walkinshaw Racing at the end of 2015 having underpinned Tim Slade's car. It was briefly owned by Rusty French before passing to Tim Blanchard in 2017.

*The James Rosenberg REC was handed in at the end of 2014 and sold to 888 by tender in 2015, underpinning the Lowndes car in 2016.

Wonder who the ''colourful'' owner RD referred to in point 190 was? Betty?

Obviously Betty.

Pitlane chatter at the time, raised concerned that the metric truckloads of cash she was pouring in, was devaluing the sport. Not to mention the very public matters regarding dragging a manufacturer into the game kicking and screaming, against their will, and burning 3 naming rights sponsors.
