Almost forgot this!

Called Fjalskar (sorry for my impression of a scandanavian name!)

Lee Janotta should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Gah! Can someone _please_ move this thread to a forum that gets more traffic? It's dying in trackside!!!

I wanted to see if I could design a circuit which would be exciting _and_ conformed to all the current F1 regs.

Heh, no luck. The big sweepers and the long straights would make this design "too risky".

Still, I like it enough to post it.

I figure it'd be a nice circuit for Scotland. A lap of the GP circuit (shown in black) would be about 2.8 miles.

The triangular infield circuit and the attached chicane would double as a very wide and fast karting circuit.

Shame, it doesn't look that risky to me.

Here's another of mine.

This is a updated version of Zandvoort that I thought I would do. Nothing too drastic, thought that I would keep it simple and realistic. Only major changes are the bypassing of Hugenholtz and staitening of the run to Rob Stotemaker Bocht with a chicane inserted. Oh ya, I also added more grandstands....

Okay, this would be my home track if someone built it: I-480 Speedway. Most of the track's income would probably come from the .75-mile clay oval, but the facility'd be built around the sprawling road course complex. It could be run in multiple layouts, and a short, easily bypassed loop would serve as a karting circuit, and could be used at the same time the outer loop of the road course was being used (great for track days).

The track is easily accessible, just half an hour from downtown Cleveland, with interstate 480 just to the north. That puts it a good hour closer to the city than Mid-Ohio or Nelson Ledges.

Ok, here's another of mine. Since Lee and a few others endevour to do theirs bases off real locations, i thought i'd have a go.

This one's at Manston Airport (ha, they even call it that, it's more of an Airfield, but it is supposedly London's sixth airport (hey, and it's only 70 miles away))

Impressive, that could actually be a pretty fun circuit. That last turn though, if it's flat, would be absolute hell for the drivers!

Please, PLEASE put this back in the Gravel Trap! mac isn't even posting on it anymore.

Windsor Raceway. This one is for the greater Detroit area, but it's actually located across the river, west of Windsor, Ontario. More open space out there.

Shouldn't be any noise or environmental concerns since it sits on a plot of land owned by a small regional airport, with mostly farmland around.

I'm _really_ proud of the layout. Very simple and clean design, I think it could be a splendid lap of about 2.6 miles.

No, it's not flat, it's a slight downhill entry, then climbing slowly back up to the runway, and the corner is intended to have a slight bank to it. Would be a fairly crucial corner though

your Windsor track, those esses at turn 2 look fun!!

This is a track that I thought of based on the ocal roads near where I live. It is mostly farmland wooded with huge oak trees. There are small rolling hills, but nothing drastic. The track took inperation from the TT course on the Isle of Man. So naturally cars would not be racing here. The scale in the upper right should give you an idea of the length of each lap. I used mapquest.com for the map....

Fast yes, but because of the scale that I had to use to be able to post it, you don't get to see it in too much detail. It is a lot more twisty then what meets the eye. What may look like a strait line on the maps above, acutally has some curves in it.

Even so, that's a moster, and no doubt very, very dangerous, but a hell of a beast to conquer!

No name for this one yet, just a quick track I whipped up for Middlesex county, New Jersey. It's on a couple pieces of unused industrial land. This is very close to New York City.

Looks like good site for a superspeedway really.

You really think so?

The problem with that is that it's just not possible to build a good road course with a traditional superspeedway. I've tried.

And the track would be first and foremost a road course. It'd probably be booked daily, even if there was just a standing flat rate for open track (arrive & drive, i.e. Nurburgring).

I've often tried Monza style rovals. But Twin Ring Motegi is a good example of how you can integrate both.

Anyway, how long is that roughly?

With Motegi they had a natural ampitheater to work with, this is flat land. Monza's design would never get approval from a sanctioning body today... And thirdly, when I've got banking, I feel like I _have_ to use it.
