Are the cars going to be the 2017 looking cars?

Not as wide as the new WRC cars since 10 cm, 5 cm on each side, is the maximum allowed width. Guess it is based on the old WRC car body wise.

Heard that Pipo have prepared the engines. Nothing official though.

I am really curious what will be different to the current Swedish VW backed Polo's. If the wide is different then the can't use the 2017 WRC suspension I suppose? And I really do believe the latest RX Polo's are already pretty good! I am sure Petter will vow for Pipo as engine builder if VW won't supply the engines. I guess they will use WRC shells to start with, so no IGMAB fit this team? Well as a side note, factory cars are not always better, Larson's Skoda was more successful than the WRC's, but of course VW is on a totally different level and all WRC teams have improved since.

Does this mean Kristofferson will become a Monster athlete with the team retaining their backing? Or has Solberg got his sugar fix elsewhere?

Might be like Ogier with Msport, his car is Red Bull the others are not. Might be the same with Solberg, though there are different grades of diabetes in a can sponsor, Doran was high profile with them doinn=g other events etc, others were not so.

Block is major league, but the F1 guys not so.

My concern is with the engine builder, not the engine components. EKS and KMS have proved that the VAG engines can be good but (if I have my facts right), the EKS and KMS engines were both built by tuners with experience with 2.0L rallycross spec engines.

Still, perhaps I am underestimating the capabilities of VW Motorsport. If Solberg/PSRX are running the program though, perhaps they will insist on utilizing the same component suppliers that were employed for the Citroen.

Haha

These "news" about RX2 are so completely unnecessary. Going to the Autosport Show and announcing an already announced schedule, with an already known car, with an already known tire supplier and supporter of WRX. I mean, what's the point?

I can understand if they want to show the attenders of the show the car and the series. But it seems like this "announcement" was for the world to see.

I don't like this series, I hate silhouette race cars as they have nothing in common with a normal car. I know SuperCars are something special too, but at least they still retain stuff from their original platform! The RX2 is just a full scale RC car with different bodies. And due to regulations such as weight it is probably the faster than a SuperCar if it had the same engine.
