Photos of Touring Car Transporters 1970's Vintage
I chasing photos of old transporters(trucks) from the 60's and 70's. In particular I chasing photos of the HT Holden van HDT used to tow the LC-LJ Torana's with or the Dodge truck Bryan Thomson used to haul his LJ Torana arround with. I am also looking for photos of of any Holden 1 Tonne utes hauling touring cars in the 70's.

I think Team Brock had a one-tonner in '76. I'll see if I can find any pics of it. Re the HDT HT have you tried Ian Tate? He was HDT's head mechanic at that time and still runs a workshop in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne - Tate Engines, Nunawading.

There's a pic in this article of the Gown-Hindhaugh one-tonner from '75 when Brock drove with/for them.

Suggest you go into "autopics.com.au" and search "transporters"
In addition you can search the guys you are interested in. |

Talking early transporters does anyone have any pics of the Leeton Motors Bedford bus conversion with the clam shell doors on the back?
As far as I know it was probably the first "purpose converted" race transporter but I'm willing to be corrected. |

Here's a couple of Brock's EJ van competing (during the A30 period). I presume it was also his towcar at the time. Both shots are out of books on Brock. Also a photo from '76 when he was given a one-tonner by Watsons Holden (Greensborough, Vic). PM also sent
