Look forward to that

37 years ago we were possibly standing quite close to each other. If I knew then what I know now, I would have said hello

Cheers,

Can't think who wrote that

Regarding Motorsport back at CP. I still have a Formula Ford (in bits) and I would love to give a run around the old place

My favourite track. If you will excuse a bit of self publicity, you will find ALL the details of EVERY race, including turn of the century races on the original velodrome, right up to the Sevenoaks sprints here (plus a bit on the bikes)
http://www.formulaoneregister.com/ht...al_Palace.html
Not cheap, but the result of 4 years research - you won't get this detail anywhere else, including contempoary mags.

John Quick WOO11 behind is Nomad Mk 2 Mark Konig or Tony Lanfranchi and Chevron B8's Furthest back being Peter Smith/David Welpton. Programme for this meeting gives either driver. The B8 left of Quick is works car and could be Dekka himself. 13 Sept 1969

NIce Picture. Lanfranchi was driving the Nomad.
The Chevrons that raced that day were
18 Andrew Mylius
24 Phil Silverston
26 Chris Skeaping
28 David Farnell

I can't make out the Chevron numbers and my recollection of liveries is not up to much, but looking at the lap chart my guess is that the two in picture are Farnell & Silverston

As already mentioned, plans are afoot to get sprinting back at The Palace and lots of work and meetings are taking place. There is a website set up for more information, so I will double check when this is allowed to be put in the public domain, as there will be more information available there. Was flicking through a load of old programmes at the weekend where all the race details, positions, times etc had been written in, can just about make it out!

The website address is http://www.motorsportatthepalace.co.uk/

Please take a look, I appreciate some might have questions which are not answered on there at the moment, but I'll answer them if I can and information will appear there as and when possible. We're currently working hard to secure partners and sponsors and more information including a brochure is available on the website.

Part 1 of 2. I filmed this on 9.9.1972. This is the last ever motor race for modern machinery. Two weeks later there was a meeting for historics and that was that. Very sad as it was such a unique place.

Just an update - CP next year will go ahead, the necessary funding has now been secured. Please bear with us, there is a lot of work to do and the website will be updated as soon as there's more major news. Aware it says Sept 09 but we will update asap, and hope to see you there!

Please keep an eye on the website for news etc http://www.motorsportatthepalace.co.uk/

Suze - I have just tried e-mailing the contacts on the website (both the "marshals" and "officials" addresses) but they come back as "undeliverable". As a marshal whose first ever visit to a motor race was at the Palace in about 1970 I would love to be part of the 2010 event. Could you advise how I should get in touch?

Many thanks

I can echo that the 'marketing' email does not work and a query about a club stand to a couple of the other addresses on the site have had no acknowledgement - I understand it may be a little early for a reply
