The Lighter Side Christmas Quiz

The Lighter Side Christmas Quiz
2 pictures of corners appear on this posting and 4 more will follow on subsequent postings.
You have to name (a) the track and (b) the name of the corner at the time the pictures were taken. You get one go only.
This quiz closes at 1700 GMT on 14th December 2009.
If more than two people get all answers correct there will be a tie breaker.
Judge's decision is final!
The prize for first and second will be a bottle of our locally produced fizz - and very good it is too. Graves is situated in the Grande Champagne region of the Charente. Our cognac is accepted as the best of the best! It is called Champagne because the calcification of our soil is identical to that of the Epernay region that produces the drink champagne.

I only say that so that you will know that the fizz is pretty good!

The prizes can be collected from the Delta truck at the Silverstone Classic or at an earlier meet by arrangement.

Bon Chance.

I remember when i first looked at picture no 6 and gave the pilot a Delta telling off for being so far away from the apex. Little clue for you all.

I am so sorry you feel that way. I only did it for a bit of fun and given the abilities of most Lighter Side subscribers, I thought I had to make it just a bit difficult. In any event Delta and Alan Morgan are both prohibited from entering as the know the answers!

I was happy to give away a couple of bottles of fizz. If I have offended your sensibilities I apologise.

No need to apologise Comte, its a bit of fun with a generous prize offered.

You might need the dates if the corner names have been messed with - depending on the degree of precision to be applied in the judging period. Also the dates might infleunce one's answers.

I would have to guess probably all of these, one way or another, so anything I offer as an entry will likely be very wrong indeed. (Unless I do another meta-study of the other answers ... )

Actually, thinking about it Terry, could you include the dates please - should help my research .....

Of course it does not mean that the names of the corners are any different today than they were when the photos were taken!

The Lighter Side Christmas Quiz - Part 2

In accordance with the rules set out at #1 there were no winners.

So we go again with the pictures expanded to make it much easier to identify, same rules, open until 26th December 2009.

Don't forget I need the name of the corner AND the name of the track for all six corners. Only one go each.

Here are the first two corners:

I'll have a go:
1 Francorchamps (not Spa to be very correct) Radillon is the proper name, but we'll go for Eau Rouge.
2 Anglesey, old track the corner going slightly uphill where the sliproad is. Second corner on the track I guess. Never been there, so do not know the name.
3 Snetterton, Russell chicane.
4 Monaco St Devote
5 Silverstone Woodcote corner
6 Brands Hatch (GP circuit) Surtees going onto the GP track.
