Is Herbert out of the Champion team, or doing double duty?

Their dates dont' directly clash, but Johnny will get a lot of frequent flyer miles in next summer if he's driving for both...
That team will be VERY strong...three fast, solid pilots... |

Great team! Question: is Champion a certainty to be on grid in 2004? I ask because of the way Herbert responded to questions about his future at conclusion of Petit Le Mans. He was rather vague. I didn't know if that was because he was in negotiations for another ride, or if Champion was maybe undecided. Have they commited to ALMS, and also to Le Mans?

I have heard that there are two more drivers involved in the Audi UK team as well as the three named above.
If this is so Johnny could well drive for both Champion and Audi UK during the year. |

Yes indeed, a very strong driving line up. Id be very suprised if they wasnt one of the cars to beat in next years LMES, in fact Id be more suprised if they arent.

The article says that the team will also contest at Sebring.

They should keep this driver line up for LM '04.
Anyone know how likely that is? Obviously Herbert has Champion to consider. What about the other 2? |

maybe Hebert wont be back to Champion. It seems like Marco Werner will drive for Champion in the full ALMS + LM nect year. Autosport is reporting that.

Excellent line up? Is the LMES a Euro version of ALMS and what is race format and where? Sorry, i'm not upto speed on sportscars at present. Also shame if Impey isn't paired with JJ again at Champion, two of my heroes in same car was great!
Brundle McSwish and Impey, though what a line up!!! |

Seems like a pretty speculative article. But very cool lineup. I like Herbert at Champion with Lehto though. That was a strong duo. They did good at Le Mans this year to. But I suppose Veloqx will throw more money into the effort. If Herbert runs ALMS and LMES that will be some serious racing effort this year!

All we need them to do is re-badge the car with a rather substantial B instead of the four rings and we'd have a compeltely "British semi-works entry" again.

Brundle is a class act, and brings lots of publicity to the team.
I've just watched his 'Supercars' DVD and he mentions Le Mans regularly throughout the film so he obviously has a great passion for the race and sportscars in general. |

McNish! Yay. And Brundle. And Herbert for that matter. Le Mans dream team if you ask me. All the more reason for me to be heading off to Silverstone on August 15th 2004
