Only been to the Indy 500 but you must visit the Indy hall of fame! Also try the fast food service place next to gasoline alley and next to the souveiner shop. Good foot longs and chilli dogs!

Enjoy! Indy is the greatest racetrack in the world!

Don't bother unless you are a Ferrari fan. Most yanks don't seem to know that other teams exist. Yank food is about as good as the track side dirt. But Have a Nice Day or Three.

I sat in stand C last year on the outside of the front stretch and I loved it!!! You are right across from one of the screens. My friend sat in the northwest vista in turn 4 on the oval and he said those were good too. And yes, you HAVE to go to the museum! Good luck and have fun!

I live just about as far north in Indianapolis as you can get, and the track is only about 15 or 20 minutes away. Sorry, that took forever for me to reply.

...If you do a google search, you can find the Indianapolis chamber of commerce which has a list of houses that people rent out during race weekends. Thats where I stayed, so much cheaper than a hotel, and lik a 5 minute walk from the track

Can't believe anyone whoever ate Brit food would say that!

There are all sorts of concession stands outside the track that offer interesting food as well, but if it is real food you are after, I like a bar/restaurant in downtown Indianapolis called the 'Hard Times Cafe'. Really good Texas-style chili, and good beer to boot!

IMS flooding, hope it's drier for race week-end, don't mind if it's a wet race though !
