Go Pro video editing software suggestions?
I've been shooting a lot of Go Pro video this year and would like to edit some of it into some short videos with music. I've never done anything like that before, so does anyone have any suggestions for software that is easy to use and doesn't cost a fortune?

Operating system?
Windows does/did include basic editing tools in Movie Maker, otherwise Adobe Premier Elements should do the trick, or there are various similar packages around the same price. |

If it's in HD then you need software that will edit it.
Serif have their older Movieplus X5 on offer at the moment for peanuts that will get you into timeline editing fairly easily, although it's been superseded with X6 there isn't much difference to warrant the price for a beginner IMO. This was done on X5 editing stills & video together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1mfgesCWhc Last edited by GORDON STREETER; 22 Jan 2013 at 08:02. |

Foiled by EMI Mr. Streeter
Your video has been blocked by EMI. Hate it when that happens!

I know this does happen sometimes and I normally get permission to use sound tracks or just record a sound alike made by a mate if the "police" wont allow it.
However it works OK from the UK end at the moment. |

If you're on PC then Microsoft Movie Maker for Windows 7 or above works quite well, but older versions don't work with HD files. Here's one I did with a GoPro Hero2 with few captions and mixing in 1080 at Mallory. You'll need quite a fast connection to watch it at full def, but 720 is quite good too.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3L924lEmmao

Thanks for the suggestions all. I've never done anything similar before so it's all new to me, so I'll have a look at what was suggested and see how it comes out.
I have windows 7 and the videos were shot with a Hero 2 in HD. |
