TGF "relieves himself" whilst driving...

In another kind of news, a surprising announcement made by Michael Schumacher in Bild about something that is never discussed too much and that may be better that way. In an open forum for their readers, one woman asked the world champion what he does if in the middle of a race the need to relieve himself becomes too strong. His answer: "What I do? I relieve myself in the car. It happens to many drivers and to myself also. With the heat inside the cockpit, it dries in a few minutes..." The things we learn...

Taken from f1-live

Isn't it a bit of an odd place for a bloke to "relieve himself". Surely there is a time and place for that.

Maybe he just gets horny from the engine noise.

You do realize Monster, that he means he pees, and not that "other" form of relieving himself?

Well, the way Kimi drives, I wouldn't be suprised if he relieves himself several times during a typical race.

"Hmm... Maybe I can take this corner a _little_ faster.... AHHHHHHH!!!! *screeech!* Woo!!!! *looks down* Aww damn!"

He can't hold it for 90 minuites? You'd think with all the heat, if you went before you wouldn't need to go again.

It's less dangerous to crash with an empty bladder
less chances that it bursts when it's empty

Taken from Jacques Villeneuve somewhere I don't remember...

I am willing to bet it is more than 90 minutes between available potty facilities, he has to get in the car which is proceeded by many other htings most likely, then do his warmup, then wait on the grid, then race (more like 2-2:30 I think) then he has to do interviews etc. (except in Australia). Plus with the amount of weight these drivers supposedly los in sweat, i think they would want to keep any extra weight ahem selfcontained lest they fall under tyhe weight limit (jk on the last part)

If he thinks he has it bad, think of the guys that do the 500 mile races in Cart, or even worse the 600 mile ones in Nascar! 3.5 hours guaranteed, possibly more stuffed in the car!

I believe that everyone does it, for Herbert was also a superstition besides a necesity.

Anyway, they're driving 800+ bhp cars at speeds that pass 300 km/h mark. And they're not alone, other cars do the same thing. I say that they don't need any more distraction factor.

This only raises more questions ...

What about a number 2?

Do they have Snuggler's car seat covers?

Does TGP have to clean it up?

It's easy. They go sometime before the race. And since they don't ahave a snackbar, most propably that they don't have to go again in the next 90 minutes or so. Unless diarrheea, but I suspect that their medics and nutritionists make the probability of such case next to zero.

I see that you are very serious - this is a good thing - the world needs more serious people

It is also a good thing that nutritionists can calculate the time a banana takes, including pit stops and safety cars.

Although hitting oil on the track at 300kph might speed up the process considerably.

At Le Mans Tiff Needell once told a funny story about this. Of course at Le Mans another driver has to take over from you. "phew that was a hot on, sorry, I've been sweating a bit!".

Also you often see the drivers, especially Michael nip back to the pits after taking the car to the grid.

Mmmmmmm - conspiracy theory #223.

TGF's poor performance in Melbourne had nothing to do with the loss of a bargeboard. He did not push to get third place or above to avoid having to stand on the podium in front of 'millions' with a large wet stain around his nether regions.

Pride can do awful things to a man!
