what date is that Alan Mann advert ? 66? 67?
and yes I agree 1800TISA they do own legitimate history, but putting the right detail into the right car and racing within the right period is the difficult bit. |

But thats how it is Al,the "Period" structure does work for the different catagories,as Zef says, the difficult part is that when these "new" discoverys are restored,is making sure they are built to what it claims to be!.

Hi Zefarelly, you are absolutely right in regard to FIA pre66. That is my mistake, I have put the ad in wrong perspective because it is from 1966 and referring to the Group 5 period in British Saloon Car Championship. When I had send the post I was thinking about Group 2.

1963 lightweight
Hello Soupdragon, all.
I know this was all a long time ago now, but I jut found this thread referenced on another website. I have the VIN of this 1963 Galaxie listed as a car sent by Holman Moody for the 1963 Tour de France. Since some time has now elapsed following the original posting, can you now eleborate some more on where the car is? If there is an IM feature on this forum perhaps you could contact me? This and another 63 sent to Alan Brown Racing for Dan Gurney to race in 63 have been difficult so far to track down. Cheers Darren Will Last edited by xlford; 30 Dec 2009 at 00:45. Reason: typo |
