Junior Senior should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Anyone got any 80's FF1600 photo's?

Has anybody got any decent 70's/80's/90's FF1600 photo's that they could post on here? After looking at the shots on the Super Saloons thread, surely Mr Kitson must have some 6 abreast into Woodcote shots??

I can't believe noone has replied to this yet. I've got loads of photos at home that I took during the 70's an 80's, mostly at Kirkistown so lots of Crosslés and Mondiales!
Got a few from Festival's at Brands, like Van Kouwen's Lola, Damon Hill's 84 VD. It'll take me a couple of weeks to dig them out and scan some but don't give up, I will do it.

Cheers,Seamus! It will be nice to see Gerrit's "Buddy L" Lola again, i've got plenty of shots too but a total lack of computer literacy means i will probably blow up my PC attempting it..............

It took longer than a couple of weeks!!! Actually, I was putting away some stuff after the Christmas Chaos when I found where all the old photos are stashed, so here are a couple to whet your appetite.

First up, young Master Irvine, exiting Colonial II at Kirkistown, this would be late '84.

I'll get another couple on later this evening.

Don't know who's in this pair of Van Diemens, Cadwell Park '89 or '90?

OK, not FF1600 but a reasonable shot of the works 2 litre Van Diemen, same meeting as the last.

Wasn't Mark Bryan '89 Star of Mallory (as it was then) champion? Dave Morgan still has, and uses the Wimpy-liveried trailer!

Justin,

Think i've got a few from mid to late 80's. i'll have a dig and see what i can find.

I know i've got one interesting static shot at Oulton '85 with Johnny Herbert standing next to his Quest, chatting to Damon Hill.

Not an expert on FF, but I took this in the early 80s at Brands Hatch

Think thats Julian Bailey in the Lola T640 in 1982, he won one of the main series that year, nice looking car too.

Won the FF festival with it too, I think.
Took Gugelmin off in the closing laps!

Remember the FF Race of Champions in identical RF85s as a support race to the 85 British GP? Dave Coyne won against 'the best' of the world's FF champions.

It got a bit fraught at times! Typical silverstone chicane FF action.

Last one for now.
The 1983 Festival. The skid marks lead to the Abbey Farm racing Royale in the fence, parked by recent DTM star Manuel Reuter.

Quality pictures Andrew! I remember the Race of Champios at Silverstone, Dave Weitzenhof & Jackson Yonge from USA, Niclas Schonstrom from Sweden, Basil Mann from RSA etc etc.
Also, i thought Jose Cordova was a talent lost, he had some enormous tussles with Sospiri, Higgins, de Faria Chaves,Gene etc in 1988, a classic year for FF1600.

The best corner for FF action was usually the old Woodcote on Silverstone club circuit. Only a handful of cars here, usually about 10 in the same shot right through the race.
March 1984, left to right Gary Ward ( now in EuroBoss), John Booth (Manor Motorsport chief) John Village and Tony Chambers. Tony was sponsored by the band 'Hot Chocolate'.

Spooky, Andrew..... I have some shots from that 89 meeting taken in the same spot, i was probably standing next to you!! I also have shots of Nicky Hart, Karl Frahm, Jonathan McGall, Alvaro de Arenzana, Scott Lakin etc, i'm afraid i'm a total novice when it comes to posting images..... A good site for 80's/90's photos is Alan Mitchell's Amity Racing tribute site " The Good Times". Alan was team manager/owner for Amity and has put a lot of images on the site which bring back great memories.

Yes I have seen Alan's site. I did a painting for him back in '89 of his Amity Cars. I'll have a look for a photo of it but I remember it being a bit rough - one of my early ones! I too have shots of the cars you describe.
