Pretty big news. Glad he's staying there, looks like he's doing a grand job and I think we've all been impressed by this new Renault team. Selby |

Renault must be very relieved - keep up the good work to both Rbert and the Team, hope they get a win soon.

What does the brave new world look like for the team in the era of GenII capital? Renault will not likely to be putting the funding behind the squad, as they have in previous years.
A paying customer program (with maybe Williams and most likely Lotus) will help from the income perspective, but you could easily wonder how this team shall look going forward, commercially & ultimately technically.... Did Mr Kubica take a risk here? Even if there seems to be no other alternative for 2011, perhaps leaving an option for 2012 may have been safer |

Genii are a seriously rich company, and they have an investment to protect. The only issue is, as Renault have an agreement to buy the 75% share of the team back within 3 years for what they sold it for, will Genii be prepared to increase their funding beyond that, when everything could be bought away from them at any moment? The again, with Massa now locked into Ferrari for at least 2011, Kubica didn't really have any better options.

Maybe there is some option. It's difficult to know what options there are on both sides. I don't read too much intro what we know of their contracts any more.
