British F3 at Spa
Sorry gentlemen but once again I am asking for your assistance in finding live timing in Spa,(if this is possible)
I am an old fart and computers are very much an alien object to me. |

Any idea if Nicolas Marroc is driving the Racing Experience F307-Mercedes that he uses in ATS F3 Cup or does he have a current generation car for this race?
I doubt that ART is on Kumho. It wouldn't make any sense as they need all the Cooper data they can get. |

Your link won't open for me Sauber, is it a file photo maybe?

Jake Rosenzweig has joined Carlin for this weekend. And GP2 Asia driver Kevin Chen has joined double R. Should have quite a healthy grid.

However in the list from the first link, there is a column for tyres and it is C (for Cooper) all the way down. I would be amazed if ART were allowed to use Kumhos. |

The only problem is that because they have nothing to lose they could tangle with one or more of the regular runners and cause them to lose points. At the moment Ricciardo looks to be flying in P2. Carlin were very strong at Spa last year and had a 1-2-3-4 result in one race. |

Track was wet for both sessions. Dried out a bit near end of second session. The Euro Series drivers will not have had any practice on Coopers in the dry which should help the British F3 drivers who are used to them. Rosenzweig 2 nd in both sessions seems to have the measure in the wet. Riki normally goes well in the wet as well. In the dry think ART is the team to watch even if they have no experience with Coopers.

Times from Qualifying 1.
I'm about to have a personal moment of hysteria here. Hywel Lloyd in his Mugen-Honda powered Dallara was 4th, ahead of the mighty Jules Bianchi! |

Great result for Lloyd! He has had a lot of pace this year in his small team (notably at Rockingham), but little luck. Interesting that the times here are over 3 seconds quicker than the European F3 Open guys who raced here a few weeks ago. Add to this the quicker times from British F3 runners Vs the F3 Euroseries at Hockenheim, looks like British F3 is the quickest championship in Europe!

I think it was quite difficult, because both free practice sessions were run in the wet, or at best damp, whereas it was dry for the qualifying session.

in which case, all the better performance by bianchi and bottas then, considering they've not used those tyres before the qualifying session
i second the comments about lloyd and the mugen honda engine. excellent work by both |

What's happened to Adrien Tambay then? The rumours are he's been injured playing footy in the paddock.

The F3 paddock at Spa is separate from the main paddock. It's flat and self-contained, with plenty of extra room. I can see exactly how such an incident could occur, although there is a certain irony about it.
I hope Adrien is less injured than suggested and recovers quickly. |
