Another rough days driving in stock hatch from the damage I saw in paddock. Seem to be the one class that drivers get away with it in

wasent there myself but i heard about the damage,i think it is now showing in the lower entry for stock hatch that drivers have a pain in their b****x with the standard of some drivers but the powers that be dont do enough to sort it out

???

I agree Murf, Until there is some 1 sent home car on trailer good luck to ya! things will remain the same... In the current economic climate its expensive enough 2 get trackside for ur days racing with out all the banging and slappin + cars holding you up all over the place! i live in hope of change till then we're stuck in reverse!

There was one incident in particular in the heat before lunch and the driver could of ended 3 or 4 lads days racing with the stunt he pulled after the lights went out.
What amazed me is how he was allowed start in the first place and how no action was taken by the officals at the time!!!

That was the biggest joke of the day. First for letting it run then for there not being any punishment to my knowledge..... . looked a bit like a stock car move not a stock hatch.......

What happened, have people been backing into him......

It probably does but with stronger Kevlar type panels they dont damage so easily...

I dont think thats the incident people are talking about. The damage to that car was unavoidable, unless i missed something in the A final!

This happens in all of the classes to a greater or lesser degree but I think it's not about what your driving but what should happen if you drive it into someone else ! we all have had racing incidents at some stage but when they are obviously intentional and result in a lot of damage it should be dealt with properly. The driver involved should be exculded from the event and put on probation for the next one (ie specifically monitored in each heat for good behaviour) & a financial penalty (give to charity or use it for a prize fund). Lets face it the cars are not toys and cost us a lot of money to put out

My two cents.....

Thats the aftermath of the incident I saw from the stand in the first run for the stockhatch A final, driver in Red 106 Lenehan was pushed into the first corner from well back causing him to retire. Surely a driver shouldn't be allowed to continue if he is the cause of a driver being put out of the race. Maybe on wrong?????

I thought I had better answer with a serious response, the body damage in Stock Hatch needs to be sorted, in Britain we had a SH class with as many as 50 entries many of them on small budgets and the biggest contribution to them giving up was probably the expense and time involved in straightening their cars.....

Didnt see that in the A final, thought it was from an incident in an earlier heat.
My mistake.

It seems the guy that gets hit loses out most of the time as they cause the red flag and get disqualified. Happened in the B final on sunday too.

I think the problem on this particular sunday with the lack of discipline was the fact that the cctv went down early in the morning so there was no way of reviewing any incidents, the coc just had to depend on the marshals submitting reports.

There's far too much reliance on the cctv, there's an attitude of "if we can't see it on the cctv then it can't have happened"

I also know that with certain organising clubs marshals reports don't count for anything. At a certain rallycross event a driver was reported 6 times from 2 locations by 3 different (highly experienced) marshals for driving standards in one heat!

The same driver was reported multiple times during the day and no action other than a verbal reprimand was issued, and only then after multiple queries from the marshals involved as to whether any action had been taken.

Just one of the reasons I don't bother marshaling for certain clubs / events.
