The Midget : No room for FOTA in F1, or the teams tractor units in the paddock
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/85059
What this article doesn't mention is that Allsport Management are part of Formula One Group. Why CVC haven't got rid of Ecclestone is a great mystery to me. |

Still trying to figure out how having the car running on the track and trailer in the back often carrying a very similar livery is a problem?? Sounds more to me like BE hasn't had something to whine about for a couple weeks and found something new and stupid to think he's in charge of, or at least has some influence in. As for FOTA, he only wants it gone so he can play Ferrari against the others to make his own changes with none of the teams getting along enough to agree amongst themselves.

Surely the branding is still on the side of the trailer units so what is removing the tractor units actually doing?

How pathetic - surely the teams could all join together and say to the little man 'Er yeah - we're not moving our lorries, but thanks for your input..'

In recent years the tractor units have all been parked very neatly in a row down the Copse runway.
Bernie is obsessive about having lined up just so and every year an aerial photo is taken of the circuit to make sure everything is correct. |

To think he wanted to take the GP away from Silverstone. I wonder where the tractor units would have been parked at Donington? |

CVC aren't going to get rid of the golden goose just yet, there's still gold to be mined/layed. No one else can do as good a job as BE in getting the big bucks out of countries for F1 races. (However, someone else may make it a lot better and cheaper and fairer and even grow the sport...)

That's insane. How can they legislate over 'mobile' advertising like this. Are AllSport going to complain of people wearing Next T shirts? Because that technically infringes their so called exclusive right at circuit - that covers all the spectators as well as the pit crews. So the crews should NOT be wearing clothes that have any sponsorship logos on either.
Bonkers. Money grabbing gone mad. |

Never used to have this problem before they laid Tarmac in the Silverstone paddock.
Most teams were lucky if they had a transporter. Transit and trailer as just a back up options was a luxury. It all started to go downhill when people realised that the new sponsorship deals required that the sponsor execs and guests ought to be entertained by the teams in the paddock. In came the American mobile bars. (Though they also few the team personnel back then). Then, suddenly, teams had spare cars and 2 transporters .... the slippery slope became steeper when the transporters changed to artics. March, iirc, were amongst the early movers on that score - I blame Mosley. |

It looks imo like AllSport is finding they are not making the returns they were expecting and are now exerting pressure on CVC in preparation to get out of their contracts! Any thoughts lads? |

Don't you just love press releases. You know it occurs to me that Sarah Ferguson chose the wrong path to future financial security when she dropped out of the Paddy McNally connection and chose a second line Prince for future funding. |
