Gavin Pyper banned?????
I've seen a rumour on the Tocatour forum saying Gavin Pyper has recieved a 3 months ban, after an incident with James Kaye at Thruxton, does anyone know of this?
It would seem strange after what Turkington did to Reid on the pit straight at Thruxton, Chilton on Harvey at Brands and wasn't punished and what Bennett did to Soper at Croft last year and only got a two race ban. Last edited by OVERSTEER; 30 May 2002 at 17:04. |

It depends how many endorsements he had on his licence before Thruxton (dunno what the incident with Kaye was, though, I didn't see the race).
If he had two endorsements already, and the officials thought this one was also endorsable, that gives him three in total and, hey presto, a ban ... Endorsements can also be dished out for speeding in the pitlane. Like you say, though, it's a rumour. Untrue, I hope, as he seems to be the only one capable of giving that Honda a race. |

Is there any more news on this one? Haven't had time to be up to speed on what's going on with touring cars this week.

Is Kelvin still doing GTs this year? It'll be interesting to see what he does back in the BTCC.
According to Autosport it's likely to be a one off because Pyper hasn't had a hearing for his appeal. |

Pyper didn't know for definate he wouldn't be racing until Weds. Burt had even less notice that he would. Pyper's appeal is scheduled for this Weds.
Good to see Burt back and immediately showing how quick the Alfa is. |
