One car misses out apparently... presuming all 41 actuallu show... there are some budget issues around at least 3 competitors..

As mentioned in another thread, Queensland Raceway can hold 44 cars for practice and start a race with 40 cars.
All could get very dangerous, not just in racing, one assumes the practice sessions could be fun to watch also!!
Will they change the points system to accomadate all 40 cars?

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
40 cars in the 2nd tier. Surely V8SA are considering a third tier. There will be a stack of AU/EF/VT/VX shells around next year just going to waste.

well they could be, but why should they have to compete against 2L future tours and the such

thiose cars will hold the v8 expansion back and besides they are not part of the V8SA program for world domination

From what I saw in Adelaide, there are plenty of drivers who will put themselves off of the grid. There is almost two tiers within the series as it is, it' just that they race together at the moment

will be interesting to see how Team Protechnica and 'The Chris' go this weekend making their V8 debut - hell of an introduction trying to dodge 40-odd cars!!

he is a good little racer and it will be interesting watching the time sheets this weekend.....

I dont seem to recall him "dodgeing" too many cars. If him and WW get near each other it will be a panel beaters dream. As long as they stay away from the komatsu commodore it will be OK.

Does anyone know if the car Gurr will be driving this weekend is the car that Ryan McLeod raced in the Touring Car Challenge at Queensland Raceway a few weeks back, or if it is in fact the sister car? I hope it is the latter; as otherwise someone will start a brouhaha about illegal testing.....

a car that runs in the TCC is required to be De-Registered as a V8supercar, my guess is Gurr is running one of the older VY's PMM has.

Gurr is running one of the ex John Faulkner Young Lions car (not the one run at the TCC meet at QR), converted to VY specs by Ryan McLeod. And it looks a treat too!

41 cars practicing was fantastic...
