bil588 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Who could join ALMS GT1 (not the state of the class thread)

How about a GT2 Z06 for P&M?

If this is the Gentilozzi built cars you are referring to, Paul changed his mind, and decided to Speed WC instead. As of December, they were still planning on building one customer car, but no comments since then. Perhaps you have something to add that has changed since December?

Think you mean Lou Gigliotti, Fogelhund, but everything else you said obviously still applies.

I thought it was P1 teams. Cytomax or Cytosport and ...

Who would be on the radar for GT1 and what car(s)?

Yes Lou is building two. One for a client and one he may use or sell.

Plus a third is possible.

He preferers to stay in World Challange.

Once you start introducing pit stops, your team doubles if not triples in size, plus all the extra equipment and cost escalate skyward too.

If youir talking about the Speed interview he said a two car P2 team, and one, possibly two new P1 teams.

Regardless, it's compettive GT1 teams we need, that means factory cars.

The only alternative is to pull the Corvette works team and supply customers, and hope teams buy C6.R's, Saleens and Astons, or switch to the more competitive, relevant, GT2 class.

If they did switch to GT2, I would hope they wouldn't run a full factory team, rather support two or three favoured customers.

Lou sent me a message saying the GT2 ride was put on hold by the client.

The paintjob was nice though.

That would be ONE Saleen, without spare parts for that price.

Yes. I am sure every team with a GT1 or access to a GT1 was asked. I think the problem is money. I think Konrad said we would run the Saleen if there was money.

Konrad may run 2 of his Saleen's instead of the 997. This may be recycled news, but it's certainly something worth moving this thread back on topic. http://translate.google.com/translat...&hl=en&ie=UTF8

One of the Radio Le Mans crew asked Konrad himself about the Saleens. He said the series organizers have been asking him to run even one car if possible, but he seemed fairly sure that he wouldn't be able to find the sponsorship for it.

Isn't that the same website that said Zytek would race at Lime Rock last year, and then changed it to Mosport after Lime Rock had passed??

Maybe. They just report what they hear. There were a lot of false rumours about the appearance of the Zytek that made the rounds at a lot of websites last year. I'm not sure what you're trying to prove by bringing this up.

Mosport Fan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I wonder where Tom Weickhardt is hiding right now?? I know he had that deal with Konrad go astray last year, make soyu kind of wonder if he had the money to buy those ACEMCO cars and do it on his own? I mean, the Viper was past its sell-by-date against the 'Vettes, but surely he could of put together something to run the Saleens.

Even Tracy Krohn with his Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT's- why not send them back to Reiter and have them "rejunvinated"? Surely it could be done, even if Krohn sold them off to someone else to do......

I am very surprised and disappointed the way GT1 is, and I know there's many out there sick and tired of hearing of the whining on these forums, but I couldn't resist this thread as there are cars in the US that can do it, just a matter of the right team with the funding and the initiative to tackle the Corvette squad.
