Hooper should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Question abt the 2004 lmp1 rules....

It is said that the new regulations create a 15% drag penalty for the new p1 prototypes compared to the actuals p900. I would like to know from which new part of the cars this penalty is due. Is it the new bottom, the twin hoop???

Some designers have said this extra drag could be dialed out through wind tunnel testing.

The teams afterall seem to have dealt with the new smaller wing (for 'old' 2003 cars) pretty well. The R8s were lapping LM 3 seconds faster than they qualified last year.

Well, only the open cars seem to be concerned by this extra drag so it won't give any avantage to build this kind of car instead of closed one.

JJ Lehto complained about it, so it must be effecting Audi big time; but it applies to all the cars... I wish I'd listened to him more closely.

The front of the bodywork ( the front airflow has been reworked) ans, though it is sais nowhere, i suspect audi of having updated their twin turbo fsi v8.

I would think the engine has had most development. Last year the R8s were left untouched to give the Bentleys a good chance of the win at LM.

Plus the bodywork/wing has had some subtle development

I think that the audis have got the same kind of developments that gave to the bentleys a 65 hp avantage over the 2003 r8's. There is no reason to not giving it to them because there is no other vag car this year.....
