Looking at that old pick, is that "old" Eau Rouge where the run-off is today? The new track certainly looks to be inside that old track.
The early 3 litre F1 cars were faster than Eau Rouge, it was a third gear corner, quick but nothing special. The special corner then was Masta, but Masta today would be barely noticed.
Times change, cars change, how you take a corner changes.

I think you'd certainly still notice Masta today - I had a clench of the spincher in my road car through there

The other great modern Spa corner is Pouhon - but they've probably tarmaced the run-off since I was there last

Pouhon is great. I've never had to use it, but the run off is still gravel there (or was in May).

(best I could find I'm afraid)

Blanchimont now has a tarmaced run off.
