2011 Tour Britannia
The route and dates have been issued for 2011
17/19 June and South West England. A total change. Can't see any great clashes of dates and a good idea to give it a go over a long weekend.Week before Dijon. |

The Porto Masters thing clashes but TB can get circuits that weekend and it is a much better bet than the mickey mouse track in Porto.
Its one of those circuits that the preparation blokes like as they get to charge loads of hours fettling cars after the cars have been to Porto. We went a few years ago, took one look at track and left race cars on transporters. |

Several hill climbs down this way though and Longleat. Will keep my eyes open as I have been wanting to photograph this event for several years. |

This might be me reading too much into things, but a quote on the Tour Britannia website highlights the possibility of joining up with other race meetings, so therefore Combe might be an option in '11.

Portimao is the circuit that Masters/Legends have just visited.
Had three cars their,Not bad and very tecnical. Roger we actually agree. I was told clash was Porto. If Portimao, different deal just a long way to go between Spa/Brands/Snett and Dijon. Sure one of Masters experts will tell us. |

Expert, no. Present when an announcement made, yes.
Apparantly, although waiting for the local Mayor to make formal announcement, it is PORTO street circuit in June- supposedly a new layout to get higher FIA rating- whatever that is. Cost of TB entry versus cost and time getting car to Portugal and back- |

The Porto circuit we went to five years ago was a car breaker and had concrete barriers around it.
I decided it was one of those expensive incident circuits. Gearboxes were breaking and so on. They need a new one and its a long way at that time of year. |

Is Porto date 11/12-6 not Tour Britannia weekend?
Going to be a bit busy with Autosport probably 11/12-6 on new Snet circuit,Tour Britannia and then Dijon.Three of the best of year events on consecutive weekends. The very busy will be at Monza the first weekend in June. |

Masters suggest 17th to 19th June in the back of Monteblanco programme I have- but already found that incorrect for Donington sept!
Also was announced at prizegiving as 17th to 19th which makes sense as ties in with the big Porto street party / festival on 23rd. According to HSCC mag today TB to be based in South West and Wales, with races proposed at Combe, Pembrey and Silverstone. Not sure about the latter being in SW, but guess the 'finish' will be there. If Epynt is included in the stages then maybe...... |

I think he said he was in Abu Dhabi a few days ago - playing golf? Presumably he's in that time zone or somewhere in between?
