oliviers should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Belgian Touring Car Series started this week-end

The Belgian Touring Car Series started the last week-end in Spa;
Although we are supposed to see touring cars, leaders of that championship are GTs ... for the fun of everyone

I updated my web site with the pictures.
Please find here a few sample:

Is that not the Belcar series that started at Easter at Zolder? if not looks like a duplication thereof.

No
I think in general:
Belcar --> Flemish (Dutch speaking) championship
BTCS --> Wallonian (French speaking) championship

Correct me if I am wrong.

That's quiet correct.
Belcar promoter is Flemish, BTCS promoter is wallonian.
They thus try to get money in their region... but that's all.
They accept everybody in both championships. BTCS seems cheaper.

BTCS was really willing to be a Touring Car Championship.
The point is that people want to see GTs. That's why you have more and more GTs in the BTCS.

Who are the people in this case? I'd personally would rather see touring cars than GTs. Ofcourse it's possible that the audience want to see GTs, but I'd like to know how they (the organisers/teams) know that the audience wants GTs rather than touring cars.

Thanks!

It's my opinion.
When there were only Touring Cars, there was an audience close to 0 ...
It was extremely difficult to bring people at the races.
During the season, there is one endurance race : 12H of Spa.
They allow Gts to run and ... you get people.

Last year, first race, only 2 porsches : nobody around the track.
This year, first race, lot of nice cars : crowded...

Always wondered why they call it Belgian TOURING Car Championship?
As far as I know Porsches are no tourers. But what do you expect from belgians?
Silly to have 2 similar championships, or 3 if you take the Touring Cup in.

Where are the 12 lappers in this godforsaken country????

All GT's are touring cars, of sorts. After all, GT = Grand Touring.

There you go, just my line of thinking.
Amazing how they manage to fill the grids of two such championships in Belgium when ostensibly "bigger" motorsport countries (no offense meant there) have championships dying on their feet, or never getting off the ground. Case in point: Germany, with the Top10/DPM/Procar mess.

Indeed, or compare the grid of the Danish Touringcar Championship with the BTCC.
