MissClarrpz should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
FIA F2 Rd 7 Hungary

Santino Ferrucci replaces Callum Ilot going into this weekend at Trident (3rd driver change in a row).

Leclerc on 7th straight pole (outright record), 1st to 2nd = 2nd to 11th. He dominates in quali then walks away in the race.

Posted this in the Silverstone thread as couldn't find the Hungary one.

Interestingly Leclercs car has smoke again in Hungaroring qualifying the same lap he goes half a second faster than anyone....

Admittedly it looked like the extinguisher had gone off in the cockpit but it will be interesting to see what happens.

At Spain (I think) Markelov had his extinguisher go off in quali and had to stop. Didn't look like a lot of smoke though so maybe it was a small leak or something else.

It would seem leclerc has lost his pole for his car not meeting technical regulations. This raises many, many questions imo

Oh dear. Prema again. Non-performance enhancing. Of course!

Leclerc in 4th! I think he has proved a point there then.

Good performance, the SC fell at a great time for him. Lucky not to damage his front wing.

One thing that struck me about Leclerc was that he seems to read situations well, for example the move where he passed 3 cars between turn 1 and 2.

Crazy race!

At first I thought Rowland shoved Markelov on the grass but he defended the inside and Artem decided to go further inside and ran out of road! If i was the Russian I would have dummied to the outside and done him into T1. He had the better handling car at the end of the race. Rowland only moved once and Markelov was behind him when he did it.

Derek Warwick was quite accurate in his brief summary after the race.

Leclerc was calm and opportunistic today. Great drive.

De Vries looking pretty handy now although he only looks about 12 lol!

Latifi continues to improve.

Jordan King not able to do much with MP in a race but he's still showing he's good with his qualy efforts.

Yeah good race. Rowland a bit unlucky to get the SC, although Markelov might have caught him at the end but probably would have run out of time to mount a challenge. But Rowland really lucky to get away with the win as Markelov looked like he would have got him, even on the outside, until he did the type silly move you'd expect from him a few years ago. Also lucky Latifi didn't get by for the win, Rowland had to force him off track to keep the lead ala Hamilton/Rosberg a couple years ago.

Leclerc didn't really have the pace did he? What happened to the near 0.5s a lap advantage from qualifying? He did an Alonso and just put his car in the perfect place on the first lap but then went nowhere and spent half the race getting past Albon. He was going to be lucky to get 8th at that point. Even the DAMS cars' fastest lap was 0.7s faster than Leclerc's when he had the softer tyre advantage at the end. On those new tyres he should have been able to do better than 4th and was lucky to even get that. That restart move where he got three at once was pretty cool but really they just opened the door for him.

Latifi; how was he not penalised for that contact? But anyway another good race for him, he just isn't letting Rowland get away at all is he? Could easily have been the win. Those Dams cars certainly have made gains compared to last year.

Should be another decent sprint race with Albon on pole and he was difficult to pass in the this race so can he hold on for the win? Ghiotto has a lot to make up for as well and should be in a car capable of winning, as long as he doesn't muck around for too long in the early stages. He's really getting outclassed by Markelov this year which is a big surprise. I thought Ghiotto was better than he's showing this year and would have been a title contender. Markolov was utterly hopeless in his first year in GP2 and now he's regularly beating Ghiotto.

How about Ferrucci in the points in his first? He's doing better in F2 than he does in GP3!

A good result for Ferrucci, though the talent generally gets less in depth as you rise up the junior formula.

Apart from the odd result he was very poor in F3. Ditto GP3. But he can still write the cheques for Haas.

I think that was probably more down to him taking a calm and measured approach to the race rather than driving like a loon, taking all kinds of risks and shredding his tyres, if you were to put Rowland or Markelov in the same position i would be prepared to wager they would have hit someone or something on a mad charge through the field, finishing 4th was a decent result given the circumstances.

Well lucky I didn't bet on that one. Albon dropped like a stone in the early stages, while Ghiotto hung on to 2nd for most of the race (meaning nice clean air) but somehow managed to still wreck his tyres and finished less than a second ahead of Markelov who made a pit stop! That's bad from Ghiotto, has he forgotten how to save the tyres?

Good turnaround from Rowland to take 2nd after he struggles with tyres at the end of race 1, they sure fixed that. and good move on De Vries. Although we all know if it was Rowland on the inside he would have pushed the other car onto the grass there (just like he did to Latifi in race 1).

Leclerc unlucky to be in the wrong place at the start but I think he had great speed and was building up to use it at the end until the gearbox trouble.

I wouldn't have bet on Matsushita but great job to take the win. Stupid summer break now.

Leclerc really is something..

Prema definitely have also worked something out, the car is a step ahead of everyone, but all you have to do is compare him against Fuoco and the picture is very clear.

And they're definitely giving Fuoco the same effort - Red Bull Ring, a circuit which is perhaps *slightly* less driver orientated and more setup/team orientated, saw Fuoco score 3rd and 5th. On more driver demanding circuits, 2 points.
