As is often the case there is a fair amount of protecting sources and confidences here.

Marshall and I have worked closely together on this story, have observed the presence of key parties in key locations together, have confirmed that our presumptions made as a result are soundly based and have garnered a lot more information than can currently be shared publicly.

Suffice to say - This IS a live project that is very highly likely to result in a public announcement in the coming weeks/ months.

On the promised GTE prospects round-up on DSC - I am awaiting a response from a current GTE manufacturer to a couple of questions and then it will be live, hopefully later this evening UK time.

I take it more as a sign that Ford is getting more serious about how they structure their performance/racing division, to make it more unified, so when they do go racing again as a factory team, they'll be able to market themselves better. We'll truly know for sure what's up at the auto show.

The rally team has been always with M-Sport, and used to be regarded as full factory effort. Used to because couple of years ago Ford's semi-pullout was publically announced and at that point that financial backing had already been clearly reduced. Funnily though, in 2012 it was called just "Ford World Rally Team", in previous years that plus BP/Abu Dhabi as sponsors or "M-Sport" instead of Ford and in 2000s it was even "Ford Motor Co.".
