You're showing your age Lee!!!
He had the biggest accident that I've ever seen about four years ago... He tried to take Old Paddock flat out for the first time ever - and by the time he tried to sort out the mess he got himself in... he got T - boned by his team mate at Tower corner. At which I was unluckily marshalling at. It was all very nasty and he and his team mate were both very lucky to survive.. So it'll be good to see him back and he used to be mighty quick, he'll be a good addition to the series! |

I Might have been a Nova actually, I think it will be an astra this time.
Rick told me that he had a bad crash, very lucky so I am told. |

Looks like Combe will soon need its own forum...
Just picked up on a few bits and pieces. Garry Prebble is the ex special saloon driver, his dad used to drive special saloons back in the 80's when we first started to go to spaceframes from cut down tin tops, back then we had very strong national championships, Esso, Hitachi, Wendy Wools, Brush Fusegear etc, then along came all these manufacturer one make series and killed it. I raced on the pre-chicane circuit - yes it was damn quick, the chicanes have slowed it down a lot and made quarry a lot easier but it is still a good circuit. Peter - you're quite right about the grassy paddock, very pretty but not practical - and too small, it gets overcrowded even on a clubbie meeting. Hey Graham - Season opener on April Fools day - you gonna be there ??? We will be there with the Classic Formula Ford - No22 (assuming of course that this weekend I get it off the stands, install the engine & box, set the ride height do the bump steer, caster, camber, tracking, corner weights, fit the new rad and nose cone (oh and paint it), fit the new seat, bleed the brakes, make the new dash, put petrol in it, polish.... might cut the grass on Sunday if there's nothing interesting to watch on telly....) anyway we WILL be there so come over and say hello. |

Tony,
Just tried to reply to your email but 'twas sent back. Arse. Anyway, I may be at the Combe season opener. Depends on finances after my little trip to Thruxton this weekend (hopefully!). I've already bought film and spare battery, and I might splash out on a flash. If I'm at Combe, I'll be skipping gaily along to the paddock to check out the car. And take some pics. Combe Forum : excellent idea! Do it now. |
