I understood it as being a power-led circuit, where surely the Swindon engines will be the strongest? |

That's true, but its also a "chassis circuit" too. The same for Thruxton. On paper, I would think that Thruxton is the very archetype for a RWD track, however they never go well there.

I still find it hard to believe that anyone would get a race ban.

I love the way he has been able to get a repaired car and be back for the next round of the year

Managed to nab a free weekend ticket through someone I work with. Been going to Knockhill BTCC since 1994 but never been to the Saturday of a meeting before. Is it worth the 1 hour drive down to watch it?

Yes, just to have a walk around the various corners during the sessions and see the drivers going flat out.

Had a look at the timetable for tomorrow and that made my mind up for me, 2 Ginetta Junior races, yes please! I usually just spend the day roaming anyway at Knockhill. Too many good places to watch from, love how close you can get to the track. I also love how tight and compact the paddock is, certainly the highlight of the year for the BTCC in my book.

Most fascinating part of this weekend could well be the "Drivers' Briefing" tomorrow morning... See if that affects behaviour this weekend.

Great pole position for our most successful driver on his 500th appearance! Bravo JP!

I know 962fan would disagree, but it really would be great to see Jason get a win in his 500th race tomorrow. He's never been that great around Knockhill, so it'll be tough, but if he manages to get his first Subaru RWD win in his 500th race I think we might see him celebrating a bit more than usual.
Good qualifying from Newsham as well, gutted for him when he lost his drive with PMR last year, so it's good to see him back and on the pace quickly. Tordoff 3rd, Turkington 5th and Neal 7th looks quite tasty! I'd imagine Shedden and Collard (once again given a tough task by poor qualifying pace) will also be right up there. Very much looking forward to tomorrow now! A fascinating day of (hopefully clean) racing potentially. |

so can we agree RWD have too much advantage and need to be pegged back ?
out of top 5 only Ingram was on the wrong wheel drive and now Turks up to 4th in the standings |

Knockhill has seemingly favoured the RWD cars for a while now. The only place where they really have an advantage is in low speed traction zones. Maybe the Hondas should be pegged back because they can brake 10 metres later than anyone else? |

I don't think it has got to that stage, just yet, arguably the best two btcc drivers of the last decade in well sorted cars will always win, Plato and Turkington, but i really cant see Scott or Cole threatening the podium any time soon in exactly the same car.

Jordan just said that they cannot compete with RWD , that they were always strong at Knockhill but now they got progresivly strong on every other circuit

When planning the new rules why did they even allow RWD? It was always going to lead to this. FWD only is the way forward to stop these arguments. Its not like the difference in drive makes a difference to the show.

4 high ballast RWD cars pulling away from lower ballast FWD cars. I don't really think Jack Goff counts as one of the best BTCC drivers for decades (no offense to Jack) and he's having no bother easily driving away from champions.
I know Knockhill favours RWD but this isn't much fun tbh. |
