DNQ should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Jensen Button to BAR?

I haven't thought of this one yet, but its quite plausible...JV has a contract, so I guess he'll be staying put, so i gather it'll be at the expense of Olivier Panis, who I imagine will be partnering Heidfeld at Sauber. Where Massa goes is another story...

But of course, it may be totally of the mark, and Jensen may be headed to Jaguar, Sauber, Jordan or even Williams.

Ripped from Pitpass.com

Quote:
Our spies at Magny-Cours tell us that British American Racing will announce tomorrow (Saturday) that they have signed Jenson Button for 2003.
It's not yet known whether Button will replace Jacques Villeneuve or Olivier Panis.

In recent weeks Button has been linked with a number of teams including Jaguar, Toyota and even Sauber, while the youngster has also claimed to have the guarantee of a seat with WilliamsF1.

We understand that at the same time Button's deal with BAR is announced Renault will reveal Formula One's worst kept secret by announcing that Fernando Alonso will drive for them in 2003.

And indeed, Alonso has been announced at Renault....

Button will sign for McLaren to partner Kimi Raikkonen

why ??

1) Button's manager said that Button and the new team would hold a press conference next week, McLAren are the only team scheduled to announce their driver line up next week

2) Button seemed very happy on TV and that was not the boady language of someone disappearing 2/3 the way down the grid

3) McLaren know full well that they are not going to be championship contenders for at least 2 or 3 years so forging a partnership between 2 young quick drivers who would be together for years makes practical sense at the current climate and Raikkonen/ Button would last as long as Hakkinen/Coulthard

Bunsen will partner Rubens Barrichello in a surprise move next year after SchM announces his retirement tomorrow at a press conference after winning his umpteenth race and of course his fifth WDC.
If everyone is going to post BS, I thought I might as well get in on this one.

My spies in the pitlane tell me that in history's first example of an Aussie giving a Pom a break that Paul Stodart will announce tomorrow that Jenson Button will partner Alex Yoong next year in the no.1 Minardi seat.

That way he can outqualify Alex Yoong and everyone can get over excited about his level of talent as they have for Alonso and Webber over these past two years.

Button to BAR... Button to McLaren... Button to Sauber...
Button expected to be at Jordan...
Button expected to be at Toyota... (or (oh, no) at Jaguar...)

Only least that Button is expected to be at Arrows or DART to
complete the possible chances!!! :S

But an only thing is sure: Button will drive in F1 for an expected successful team!!!

If Button goes to BAR, where will that leave Panis or Villeneuve?

JV has a year to go on his contract, but has all sorts of clauses that can see him leave, and JV has been unhappy all season with the team since Pollock was given the boot.

Panis, on the other hand, has proved quite popular with the team, is certainly not as demanding as JV and more of a team player, and even Richards has said he'd like to keep Panis.

Obviously this isn't concrete proof that DC will leave McLaren but hear me out..............

Just seen an interview with DC after this mornings warm up and he was talking about what tyres he was using which he's not contractually allowed to do.

Now, he may be trying to bluff the other runners, although Peter Windsor did say at the beginning of the warm up that McLaren are running soft tyres so that bluff proberbly won't work, or maybe he's not worried about what Ron Dennis says anymore as this years WDC has gone and he won't be there next year?

I don't know abt Webber but Fernando is someone to get exited abt!!If you ask a mecanic or team-manager-boss they truly belief that Alonso is one of the biggest talents F1 will have in the next couple of years!!If you havn't seen his talent than you don't know a thing abt driving!!It is not about what he has showen in F1 but what he has showen in the lower series and he did show some impressive form in his Minardi !!

Number Juan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
this is indeed a complicated and tricky decision for both Button and the team he is going to. i indeed do hope that he packs his bags and gallavants over to Mclaren to drive the car to its proverbial limits and kicks the arse of that Finnish driver...

i do hope however DC doesn't dissapear from F1, i think he's a top driver but just needs to be more consistent with his performances. i hope he goes to Jaguar to stick 2 fingers up at the ulsterman.

I don't understand why you don't like Kimi, Number Juan, because Kimi is one talented driver and he will be right up there with the top guys in two years' time.

i like the guys with a bit of style and charisma... he has the charisma of a boiled egg. however, theres no doubt he is a hell of a driver great and fresh talent that will no doubt be giving ralfie and montie a run for their money in years to come.

if Button were going to Mclaren next year, why would DC be talking about "focusing on developing next years car"? Button will be going to BAR at te expence of Panis, because Villenuve has alraqdy said he is staying...tsk...first Wurz, now Panis joins the club of "great drivers repleaced by the talentless Button"

Back to the topic posted, the most plausible scenario is that Button will be at BAR with Villenneuve and theat Panis is out of a drive, possibly out of F1. Its a huge shame because he is an outstanding driver and deserves far better.

DC will be back at McLaren w/ Kimi, though Tazio Nuvolari has presented an argument supported by the evidence. Ultimately tough, I don't read the evidence the same way.

Dave Richards was very smug about talking about Button on ITV this morning.
Eddie Irvine was very stern, and slightly downcast.

Which Honda powered team do u think has gained Button's services for 2003.

Bye bye Panis!
