New races galore, new drivers may be at less of a disadvantage than would be expected. Note the later start and end to the season. Rumor mill suggests Singapore and a new London venue to fill the gaps, but time will tell.

Of course there are several unconfirmed drivers from the past season, plus we have Rene Rast's possible entry. Team Aguri bought out, Andretti gets even more advertising, TCR fully bought out, Faraday Future partnered with Dragon to build a Penske branded unit, AFdC out, JEV to replace, JM Lopez joins DS. Bloody 'ell.

This series changes at warp speed. Let the complete relearning of the teams and drivers begin so we'll be ready in October.

Felix da Costa is likely for Andretti.

I've heard mixed things whether Piquet is actually confirmed at NextEV. I wouldn't be shocked if he ended up at Jaguar, perhaps alongside Davidson or Lynn.

Magnetti Marelli (read FCA) to supply Andretti, Dragon (read Penske), and Mahindra. Latter two expected to be based on the same base unit (a la the McLaren/Venturi/Mahindra unit in S2), while the Andretti is believed to be a different design to the other two.

I know, it's strange that the union of the world's two most electrification-phobic brands owns a company most commonly associated with high-quality motor design. I guess we can't have Chryslers that don't break down after a week, now can we?

Although this does make for a fun game of 'spot a rival manufacturer's logo on racecars' [start with IndyCar for this one].

Honda WTCC factory driver Tiago Monteiro has tested a half season 3 Mahindra at Calafat. The test car was running the last season powertrain (which doesn't count against testing days) but was running an extremely revised front wing assembly which is believed to be part of the updated season 3 aero package. Monteiro has confirmed his commitment to the tin-tops but awaits Honda's decision on extending the WTCC program. It is also possible Monteiro could be part of a future M-TEC Honda entry in the future.

Dragon has poached Abt technical director Jacky Eeckelaert, who has prior experience with a number of F1 teams.

Would be nice to see him in Formula E with M-Tec Honda, but I think that's very unlikely at his point.

And it would be very bad for WTCC to loose another driver after López moves on to Formula E.

I disagree, it's the FIA WEC the one that should change it.

Not just because the Formula E date was set earlier. The 6H Nürburgring is held too close to the German Grand Prix and the 24h Spa. It should be held in August, and another European race should be placed in July (Monza?)

Not sure why this 'date clash' of events on opposite sides of the Atlantic is relevant?If we go down that road we have clashes this weekend between F1/Indycar/NASCAR/24hr endurance.

plus now i waiting to find out if i need to press either 104 or 105 as ITV will NOT be showing these cars next season on the UK tv side of things

It's not going to be on Channel 4 or Channel 5:
The ratings have been abysmal - as low as 70,000 for some races - so they won't be interested.

Plus, Discovery Channel is now the championship's largest shareholder. So I'd expect it to turn up on Quest (which is also owned by Discovery).

How do they calculate how many watch? No one has ever asked me what I see--had satelite TV since 1989-must be over 200 channels on EPG-think I did watch Quest once
