RallyX should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rallycross Grand Prix

Just a quick thanks to all who braved the weather this weekend at Croft. All Clerks and other Senior Officials were pleased with the way all incidents were dealt with, and the event was a credit to you all!

My apologies to those I didn't get the opportunity to speak to in person, I will meet 'n greet you at following meetings, as I am sure you are as keen as I am to see an event of that type again!

What did you think of Mats Ohman - In the red Volvo S40 (d17) ? Amazing, I did have reservations about him when I read the E-Mail from the MSA, allowing him to compete, but after seeing him drive, good grief!!

I never thought I'd say it, but " I WANT A VOLVO !! "

Again, thanks for braving the weather, and a job well done!

Shaun

Alan Green should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Great fun, despite the weather and nearly being sent flying by an errant 205 into post 1 on Saturday.

I agree with you about Mr Ohman, amazing control and speed for a guy with his level of disability.

Glad you enjoyed, here's hoping for better weather next year.

The meeting was so good why should Rallycross be lost within the 10/10s marshalling forum, rally forum, etc? Should it have a separate forum?

Mats Ohman
2nd fastest two wheel drive in practice for Internations according to commentator.
Ah, no steering wheel
No accelerator pedal.
No brake pedal.
No clutch pedal.

Sideways into a gravel trap, flick it round on full power missing tyre bail.
Exit gravel trap at full tilt.
Flick it the other way on the tarmac to miss the second tyre bail.
Flick it back again the other way to power slide it round the next long corner whilst the car leans like a yacht from the Americas Cup.
Didn't loose his place in the race.
Next lap even more sideways.
Why do we have legs that work?

Actually gents the real hero of the weekend...was not Mats Ohman (Although I do have utmost respect for him) but was his young mechanic (possibly his son by the looks of him)
and here is why...

Car 17 drives up the pit lane closely followed by said mechanic, car arrives on the dummy grid (my post for the weekend) and then so does mechanic running.

Once the car was gridded on the dummy grid, the mechanic checked the driver was ok then ran down the pit lane towards the grid were again he checked that Mats was ok.

Then at the end of the race he ran back to the paddock to sort the car out ready for the next heat...

A ture unsung hero of motorsport!

look forward to seeing them both back next year!

(Graham - Perhaps you'll have a new pair of tuff-cuts by then after your 'pushing the invisible' incident)

Dont forget to catch all the action from the Grand Prix on channel 4 on saturday December 7th at 7.30am.

I am looking forward to seeing the Hansen/Hunssbedt incident! To see who (if any) lifted off the gas first
