What's so good about the Walter Hayes Trophy?
With just under 2 weeks to the WHT and entries heading ever upward - I was wondering what makes it so popular?
Is it value for money? Or because the FF1600s are the main event? Or because it's a relatively rare race at Silverstone? Or just a good way to end the season? And why do some drivers miss the Formula Ford Festival or the Formula Ford Carnival to do the WHT? And what would the organisers of the Festival or the Carnival have to do to get FF1600 grids like the WHT? Lots of questions but I'd be interested to see the answers. |

Value for money..... over 2 days and not 3 and no other race to compete with.

Value for money
Good track to drive Possible to overtake Can go off without hitting too much Nice and dry in the garages Only an hour from home The feature event is FF1600 Enthusiastically and well organised Compact program Upto 4 races Genuine last race of the year (excepting 'Winter' races) Last edited by JohnMiller; 25 Oct 2004 at 14:48. |

Organised by an 'enthusiast' for enthusiasts.
That makes the difference I am sure. |

really good value without taking the **** out of the club competitor .
They really let you know your wanted and look after you with simply things like the garages ,which in turn creates a really good atmosphere between the racers almost party like ! Edited for autocensor dodging. Last edited by Ian Sowman; 25 Oct 2004 at 16:26. |

LOL
which Silverstone track do they use? (presuming it's the one where Abbey is a hairpin, not a chicane?) |

No, they don't go near Abbey. It's on the National track.
