Rosie's Bar
In all the claptrap media reports surrounding this weekend's Monte Carlo F1 race I read that Rosie's Bar is no more.
Does anyone know what happened to all the old pictures that decorated the place? And signatures and who knows what else? Anyone? We were there in 1964 and duly left pictures of our team of three cars (Monte Carlo Rally). I visited again in 1994 they were still there. Now I guess they are gone |

I think the contents were purchased by a company (it had something to do with Henry Taylor's son?) who were going to open a sort of Rosie's Bar franchise at various circuits (like Silverstone) - what became of the project I have no idea. This was back in 1996 or thereabouts. The bar was destroyed and the place it occupied now forms part of the new(ish) Sports Medical Institute, next to the Cardiographic Centre.

Does anyone know if Rosie Bernard is still with us?
And if her souvenir shop is still open? We'll be there next month - would be nice to see her again - 1964 - 1994 -2016? Thx Derek |
