FastDB2s should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ted Cutting

Ted Cutting, Chief Racing designer at Aston Martin in the late fifties & early sixties, later at Ford has died, aged 85.
Designed the DBR 1
I never met him personally but did go to a talk by him & attended various AM events where he was, very clever man at the forefront of the purpose built racing car era.
Racing engine, tubular spaceframe, rear mounted gearbox & a great many novel ideas.

RIP Ted

I had the great pleasure of sitting next to Ted at lunch at Silverstone last year and he couldn't have been more charming. He was also sharp as a pin and when conversation turned to modern F1 technology he was the most animated person at the table. However my favourite part of the meal was the re-telling of Aston Martin's agreement with Maserati, which involved Ted having to fly over to Italy to negotiate a deal personally with Adolfo Orsi over dinner - otherwise he wouldn't let him have the gearboxes!

Not only a great designer and engineer, but a true gentleman with it.
