If the calendar and costs work for me then that seems a sensible place for my CRX. I've considered tin tops but not a fan of the longer races with only me driving.

We shall have to make sure one of us brings this up in the closed season to see if we can attract any others.

Too late surely to wait until the close season, don't the MSA issue licences for the following season in the summer? Sometime in July I think

Just join the CTRCC and join in the fun, you don't need a separate series, it failed in the end before so what is different. This is why we set up ModProds for redundant cars like this in mind. We even altered the rules to allow in the CRX when other championships were saying it was a two seater. Pre-93 is more like I originally called up the rules for ModProds which has since maybe progressed a tad too far the other way for some people.

Linus sold his with the transporter.Despite the Polo being distinctly banana shaped where Mutley T-boned him someone tried to straighten it but the result was so terrifying it never raced again.
Matt Brookes and Pete Studers cars raced on for a few years in the VW Cup and Craig was still racing his in the last season of the Super Coupe cup. I haven't seen any race for a couple of years so assume that they are all extinct now

Both my cars are out at Pembrey on 19/20 this month which will make 4 Rovers but in Oct there will be at least 1 more so if anyone can get there we could have a bit of race on. I know it's a bit of a trek to Pembrey but wouldn't it be a bit of fun with 8/10 Super Coupes on the grid!

Paul,

Was that the Snetterton race when you went through Riches upside down and backwards on your roof? that was one of the more unusal first corner incidents that I had the pleasure of avoiding!!

216, good idea but I'm about as far East as you can get from Prembrey!

Hi Mark,

that's the race- I remember going along upside down watching the sparks coming off the leading edges of the bonnet and the roof and turning the masterswitch to kill the electrics.....

Glad to hear that you're still racing your CRX

Regards

Paul

Sorry for jacking this thread,

I have a Tomcat which I plan on doing Pre 93 next year with. Looks like there may well be upto 6 Tomcats there next year.

However this year I have been buying up spares.

And in a job lot I have bought, there is a number of 216GTi parts, namely suspension dampers, sills, and what seems to be a rollcage.

Anyone interested in this little lot?

Dave

Eddie, what have you got and how much,I bought all new suspension from the factory last year but did you buy the brake pads, we were giving £10 a set but I was away at the time of the sale. They were a bit old and didn't last as long as they should but at that money it didn't matter!

I'll give you a list of what I have, I'm only after silly money for them, just need the space now and seems a shame to waste.

Hi there.

First post on this forum so hello all.

I've been offered a CRX super coupe car for about 2k, I was planning on posting up a pic of the car to see if anyone recognised it but i can't seem to find away to upload the photo, but i can email it to someone else if they want to try?

I'm currently running a XR2 in the PPC sprint series, and met Jamie G at the last one at goodwood and his dad. Sadly my XR went home via the RAC but should be all fixed and ready to go again by the end of the week (fingers crossed!).

Buy it! It's probably a bargain, and I think everyone on here will vouch for how much cheap racing and fun there is to be had.

Get in touch with Rod Birley or Chezza on here and ask them for a set of DTRC regs, and see what you've got to do to be eligible. Chances are it's not much for the CRX...

Buy it!

Naa its been sat unused for the most part of a year, done a couple of track days thats it. Its not advertised anywhere, just got talking to a chap in my motocross club and he said he had it but it doesnt get much use and offered it to me, so im 95% gonna have it, hopefully will check it out in the next weeke or so.

I'll post a pick as soon as i sort out this photobucket thing.
